Over wine at Society, Chelsea and Chloe discuss the fate of their fashion platform (now entirely in Adam’s hands)
Lauren joins Mike on the CL’s patio as he’s texting with Victor. Yes, his new boss sure does keep life interesting. The sale of Newman Media will soon be made public but Victor’s next move is anyone’s guess.
At the ranch, Nikki presses Victor on which way Adam may be leaning (will he stay on to run the media division) What will you do if he says no? she asks.
Vikki and Ashland are at the office. She’s sure Adam would rather eat glass than work for her – he just loves to keep people hanging, from their fingernails if possible.
Sally drops by Adam’s office to see if he’s made his decision. He has – and will tell her very soon. Adam! she leans out the door to call after him.
Enjoying his day off with Elena, Nate wonders whether he should accept Ashland’s job offer.
At CL’s, Faith tells Nick that the University of Michigan is her top pick. She might want to go into business; specifically, fashion/beauty like Summer and Aunt Vikki.
When Adam shows up at Newman, Vikki’s sure he’s resigning – it’s the only move that makes sense. No, Adam’s decided to stay – he’s a team player, after all.
We poured our blood, sweat and tears into this fashion platform, Chloe worries someone else could be running it tomorrow. We have to fight, Chelsea won’t give up. Chloe wanted to give her BFF a soft place to land. Together, we’re a force to be reckoned with. Come with me, Chelsea leads the way. We’re going to the top.
Faith tells her Dad that she may have inherited the ‘business’ gene. Nick’s supportive – try different things. No, grandpa didn’t influence me, Faith swears (but is inspired by him)
Nikki knows Victor’s disappointed in Adam, but you two have come a long way. She’d hate to seem them fighting again. If he doesn’t want to work for Newman Locke, Victor has a Plan B. He’d rather take her out to lunch than discuss it.
Surprised, Vikki welcomes Adam aboard. Dad will be thrilled with your choice since he fought to so hard to keep your job safe. Adam hopes he’ll continue to have full autonomy. Not so fast, Vikki shuts him down.
Vikki won’t give Adam complete autonomy just yet. Asked for his input, Ashland stands by his wife; instant autonomy might be a bit much. You’ll have to prove you can run an entity twice the size you run now, Vikki adds. Adam looks forward to showing them what he’s capable of. Now, who wants to break the good news to Dad?
Nate runs Ashlands’ offer by Elena. No – they don’t want to replace you, they want to expand AskMDNow. Nate isn’t ready to leave the hospital just yet. But you can’t do the job you love (surgery) because of me, Elena sighs.
Chloe and Chelsea march into Vikki’s office to get right to the point. Congrats on the sale. They hope their contract will be honored. Yes, Vikki’s aware of the fashion platform and feels a connection to Sally (because of the dress she designed for her) But, Newman Locke isn’t interested in developing a new clothing line – she has other plans for Newman Media.
