Deciding that Adam could use a dose of humility, Victor’s vague on what changed his mind and tells Vikki to come up with a figure. Pausing to look up at her portrait, he smirks – don’t lowball me. I would never, Vikki’s left to look worried.
Refusing to say who she summoned for back up, Amanda thinks giving up TGP is a decision that shouldn’t be made lightly. Mike rushes in to hear that Phyllis is thinking of leaving GC. The hell you will, Mike orders – if I have to stay here, so do you.
Amanda wants Phyllis to have the best possible advice – hence Mike; who scowls down at Phyllis as he makes his case. This town made you what you are today; he manages to mention felonies, misdemeanors, he’s insulted that she’d consider bailing. You and Summer working together won’t last a week! he shouts, then finally sits. I need to know you’ve come to your senses so I can be on my way, he dramatically taps his watch.
Ashland’s back with food and info. No, Vikki had no idea Mike was working for Victor. She’s surprised Adam didn’t throw that in her face. He didn’t know, she decides – Victor also didn’t tell him that she made an offer to buy Newman Media. My Father and I had the most interesting conversation, she adds.
Adam’s at the ranch to confront Victor – why didn’t you tell me you hired Mike Baldwin? Is there something going on I need to know about???
Phyllis doesn’t know whether to be touched or annoyed by Mike being so loud in her hotel. She doesn’t like standing behind that counter all the time. Her two friends will support her taking at trip to Milan; the scheduling of which will have NOTHING to do with whether Jack’s still there or not)
Ashland and Vikki are both suspicious of Victor; changing his mind because of the lawsuit and hiring Mike Baldwin. He wouldn’t tell me – but Vikki’s sure her Father’s up to something.
Victor tells Adam that Vikki came to him offering to buy ChanceCom. You turned her down, Adam’s relieved – but wishes Victor had confided in him so he knew the dynamics. It doesn’t end there, I’m seriously entertaining her offer, Victor stuns Adam.
My Thoughts: Vikki’s a fine one to talk about things being handed to them by Daddy. Does she really think she’d be in his office otherwise?… Excuse me? Did I hear Phyllis right? Crystal can run TGP? CRYSTAL?! The woman rarely interacts with staff or guests and only owns one drab green dress! Her job duties seem limited to walking by, sometimes carrying something, like today; flowers. Imagine if she or other employees (if there were other employees) heard such an offhand remark. No offence to the lovely actress, Krystal Mosley. Perhaps she’d then get a storyline; maybe a hotel or media company of her own. Or, better yet, a fashion platform. They’re all the rage these days (and she could swap out that drab green dress)… Wait, what? Victor had Vikki’s ‘secretary’ hold her calls? At best that’s an old-fashioned term, at worst it’s sexist. If Vikki had anyone posted outside her office, she or he would be her ‘executive assistant’. But of course she doesn’t, otherwise Adam (and everyone else) wouldn’t have been able to just walk on in… For a minute, I thought Amanda had summoned ‘Cricket’ as the person who knows Phyllis better than she does. I’m glad that we’ll see more of Mike – but that hair and beard. I just can’t get used to it. Needs more pepper, less salt.
