Amanda regrets letting Sutton in. You let me in hoping I’d beg for my life. YOU feel betrayed? Amanda’s astonished. So WHAT if her turning on him is a vindictive act!?
Vikki’s not sure it’s a good idea for Ashland to get involved in Victor and Adam’s plan. Wouldn’t it be better to focus on treatment in Peru? It might have a negative impact on your health. Vikki wants them to proceed without Ashland’s involvement – let my Father handle this.
Chance shouldn’t have gone – shouldn’t have made promises to Abby that he couldn’t keep. Of COURSE he had a choice, he argues with Victor – they could have sent in another agent. Now Abby has no husband and Dominic has no Father. I’m sorry, Devon apologizes to a crying Dominic as he cradles him.
Equally frustrated, Victor declares Devon one helluva friend. Ashley returns to say that Abby’s finally asleep. Devon reluctantly leaves – keep me in the loop. Now alone, Ashley and Victor are worried about Abby and at a loss as to what to do.
Ashland reminds Vikki that she had no problem with Newman Media making a move against Billy and ChanceCom. Vikki still doesn’t want details but she she worries about Ashland’s health – and will this plan affect their children?
Jesse’s sent up for a shower and clean clothes. Billy and Lily aren’t convinced. We have to find Jesse a place to say while we vett his story. If he’s telling the truth – and has the original letter, it’s what we need to turn the tables on Victor and Newman Media. Those are some big ifs.
Amanda hopes Sutton will finally get wnat he deserves. Sutton hoped she might have a shred of compassion for what this will do to th efamily. Empty your damn pockets! Or I’ll call the police – then Mike Baldwin. Devon will keep Sutton company while Amanda makes that call. Sutton pulls out a recorder. Just as Amanda suspected – you don’t care about Naya and Imani – you only care about yourself.
My grandfather wanted to get a recording of me admitting that I was only testifying against him out of vindictiveness – so his attorney’s could diminish my testimony. Devon’s not surprised that he’d throw his family under the bus. What a disappointment you turned out to be, Sutton snarls before obediently leaving. The fact that he tried this proves how dangerous and desperate he is – he knows the case against him is strong. He made a huge mistake. What he did tonight could help send him to prison.
Billy’s taking Jesse to a hotel to lay low. Lily’s not taking anything he says at face value. Billy hopes he has Camilla’s original letter – explaining why she wasn’t leaving Ashland anything. Of course he does. How foolish do you think I am?
Ashley’s heart is breaking for Abby – she wishes Chance didn’t take that assignment. Both she and Victor think highly of Devon – we’re blessed to have him be part of Dominic’s life. Unable to sleep, Abby comes down. Victor suggests she try one of the anti-stress meds. Nina comes home to hug Abby – it didn’t seem real.
Amanda’s on the phone explaining how Suton tried to entrap her. Yes, she has the recording – you can hear every word. Devon comments that Sutton had the look of a man who’d never been challenged a day in his life. We have worse things to deal with, Amanda asks how Abby’s doing. She’s starting to accept that Chance might not be coming home. She’s not doing well at all. Devon’s worried about Abby and Dominic.
Victor quietly tells Nina that the only things his team could find of Chance was his ring and phone. Now that the day Nina’s always feared might come is here, she’s numb. May I? she’s given Abby’s permission to pick Dominic up.
Back at the office, Ashland assures Vikki that he’d never go along with anything that might affect the kids. Billy’s proven that he’s willing to weaponize ChanceCom. He brought this on himself. Everything’s been arranged to the last detail. Not dangerous. Risky – in that it might not work.
You’re the only one in the world I trust right now, including Vikki, Billy will fight like hell to prevent Victor and Adam from destroying what they’ve built. Let’s go, he leave Lily to look nervous.
