Avoiding the question of who Jesse Gaines is, Adam appreciates Sally defending him to Billy and is sorry he was abrupt with her earlier. Billy’s determined to bring Newman down, she adds – and can tell Adam’s concerned. There’s nothing to worry about, he insists.
Rey would like to hear about Sharon’s conversation with Lily. Billy can be SO exasperating sometimes, she huffs and puffs. It sounds to Rey like it had more to do with Sharon’s feelings towards Adam.
No one thinks it a good idea for Abby to go listen in on Chris’ phone calls. Ashley sends Tessa and Mariah to the kitchen to ‘make snacks or something’. Devon ends a call to ask if he can do anything. He can calm Dominic down when Abby’s barking wakes him up.
Back at ChanceCom, Billy has no info on Gaines. ChanceCom’s best investigative reporters haven’t found him; there’s no record of him leaving Italy. Maybe he’s still there, six feer under. Lily doesn’t think the Newmans capable of murder – why do you always think the worst of Adam? He and Victor are definitely coming after ChanceCom. We need to find Gaines, dead of alive; he’s our best weapon against them.
Billy lays out his best-case scenario; we find Gaines – alive; we’d have leverage on all three of them (Ashland for his crime and the Newmans for covering it up) We have to find another way to fend off Newman Media, and yes, as a matter of fact, Lily does have an idea.
Checking to make sure Adam’s gone, Sharon insists she’d be just as annoyed with Billy if he was making accusations against someone other than Adam. Why yes, she did get involved after Rey told her it’d be best if she didn’t.
