Victor and Devon will confront Stitch- time is of the essence. Abby’s told to stay home and be careful. After they leave, she sends a text. At Society’s bar, Ben smiles at his phone, pays for his beer and leaves.
Mariah weakly struggles to sing Tessa’s lullaby before pulling blankets out of a drawer. Oh, how she misses Tessa – there’ll be a huge celebration when we get out of here. Bowie needs me, she fights the pain and her emotions.
Abby lets Ben in. No, there’s no news – she’s so glad he saw that man in the store. Ben hopes his lead can still pay off. Abby’s not sure about anything anymore except that she feels better when he’s around ~hug~
Before heading back to the house, Sharon asks Tessa to pray with her. Dear God, please protect Mariah and the baby – give them strength. Bring them home, Tessa adds. Amen.
Abby whines about her Dad and Devon being unable to help find Mariah and the baby. It’ll be OK, Ben reassures. I can feel my baby crying for me! I’d give up everything, pay whatever ransom, and I’m doing this all alone – Chance isn’t here! Abby wails. Just tell me what to do, Ben hugs her.
Arriving at TGP, Devon gets a text from his PI. Ben was fired from his job in Iowa months ago. Rey joins him and Victor to say that Mariah’s phone pinged here. We need to search Ben’s room immediately.
Followed by Victor and Devon, Rey marches around Ben’s suite to quickly declare that he’s not there. But when Devon calls Mariah’s phone, it rings from a duffel bag. It was Stitch the whole time, Victor states the obvious.
Ben wants to help Abby through this. She knows – after all these years there’s still something between us. Did you come to town to be with me? Was there ever a job at the hospital? You being here is a blessing – let me be that for you. You can tell me anything. I can see the guilt in your eyes – you feel bad for what happened when we were married – what happened with Max wasn’t your fault. Ben burst into tears – I’m a doctor, I should have realized what my own son was capable of. Abby cries – I’m about to lose another baby! Ben won’t let that happen. I came back here for you, he admits how hard his life’s been – I needed to make things right; needed redemption. All is forgiven, please tell me where they are, Abby finally pleads.
Now in a bathrobe, Mariah’s done all she can to prepare, so slowly slinks to the ground in agony.
