Back at Society, Devon tells Victor that he’s supporting Amanda as best he can. He’s the one who encouraged her to reach out to her family (based on his experience with Tucker) Asked his opinion of Sutton, Victor knows the politician’s image means everything so has to wonder how far he’d go to safeguard his reputation.
A frustrated Amanda’s surprised when Sutton appears at the park to say how glad he is to have found her.
Jack leaves Tara to express confidence in Billy that he has his nephew’s best interests at heart. Vague about Ashland’s health, she’s asked whether she’s concerned about how quickly her ex moved on with Billy’s ex. Oh, he’s not jealous, just concerned – should I be? No, not if you’re OK with Ashland using Vikki to nurse his bruised ego, Tara replies.
Devon fills Victor in – Amanda’s Father knew about the twins and was ready to raise them. It’s good you’re in her corner, Victor concludes.
Naya won’t let me visit her in jail, Amanda informs Sutton. He declares this a tragic day for our family – perhaps now you understand why I was so opposed to using Naya’s relationship with Richard for my defense. Giving up her babies plunged Naya into depression for months, he claims. Suspicious, Amanda wants to know who took care of Naya, what medications she was prescribed. Not surprised to hear there’s no record of Naya’s supposed depression, Amanda wonders how Sutton convinced her to take the blame for a murder HE arranged.
Now at CL’s, Vikki ends a call with her legal team to update Ashland on issues with a couple of overlapping divisions. No, she won’t sell Newman real estate or electronics. You’ll have to compromise too, Ashland points out. When he suddenly stifles a cough, Vikki offers to get him a drink – then hurries Ashland out when Billy appears wanting him to set the record straight.
Keep your voice down! Sutton orders. I know you don’t want to believe Naya killed Richard. Amanda suspects Sutton threatened someone; Naya’s husband, Imani, me? You sold your soul for your career – gave up your grandchildren, your own flesh and blood. Now, you’re willing to sacrifice your own daughter. I’ve heard enough out of you! Sutton growls.
Back at CL’s, Billy tells Victor that Adam claims he’s dropping his vendetta against him and ChanceCom; probably trying to impress Nick or Sharon. This must be burning Victor up, he’s sure – knowing how badly you want to take him down. Not really, Victor’s sure Billy’s digging his own grave.
Tara reassures Jack that he doesn’t need to apologize for Billy. Speaking to him might work in her favour. Perhaps ChanceCom will promote her shoe line. Hearing that they ‘dished’ on their exes, Jack’s surprised Billy would drag Vikki into it. Tara got the impression he’s concerned with her welfare.
Knowing that Victor disapproves of every man Vikki’s involved with, Billy scoffs at the notion that Ashland’s successfully jumped through all the hoops. Victor respects Ashland for the company he built. It’s not that he’s like ME, it’s that he’s nothing like YOU. Vikki won’t listen to my warnings so Billy hopes she’ll listen to Victor’s. Maybe she wants you to stay out of her business, Victor gives Lily a glare on his way out. What was that about? she asks Billy.
Knowing Amanda’s coming from a place of grief, Sutton forgives her for being wrong about him. He appreciates her devotion to her Mother and that’s why he’s hiring her to defend Naya. Go to hell! Amanda stomps off.
Ashland will keep his visit (to Vikki’s office) short so as not to tip anyone off to what they’re planning. They might think we’re dating, Vikki flirts. Ashland wants to add fuel to the fire – let’s go out for dinner. Vikki can’t – she’s having dinner with her kids. Tomorrow then. Oh – he has to LA – but the offer stands – dinner in LA.
At CL’s, Billy tells Lily that Victor just confirmed that both him and Adam are dropping their vendetta against him (and ChanceCom) Lily’s relieved – we should celebrate. But why get dressed up and go out when we can get undressed and stay in?
Amanda’s at the penthouse to tell Devon that Naya had her taken off the visitors list. Sutton then just so happened to find her in the park – and get this, he forgives me for suspecting him of killing my Father – and asked me to defend Naya! Amanda wants to defend her Mother, but on HER terms – as for Sutton, she plans to bring him down.
Ashland reminds Vikki that he was able to talk her into changing her mind about going to NY. When he goes into a coughing fit, she hands him a water bottle. If you’re worried about me, come to LA with me. Vikki will see him when he gets back. In the hallway, Ashland passes Victor (who tells him to ‘be well’) Once inside Vikki’s office, Victor guesses the rumours are true. He’s dying, isn’t he?
