Summer’s happy to see that Vikki’s at Newman Media with Victor and Nikki. All wish her the best. Nikki hopes it’s something she truly wants. It is. There’s no need to be nervous – we love you. Victor and Nikki will see her soon (as they’re going to Florence for a concert)
In the park, Kyle calls TGP – has Summer left her suite yet? OK, thanks. He hops a hedge and runs off.
Summer returns to her suite. I guess this is it, she tells her Mom. After Nick comes back, Phyllis will go visit. Maybe I can build a Grand Phoenix in Italy. The world is yours, Phyllis tears up – everything is yours. You’re resourceful and strong – you won’t take anything from anyone, because you’re my daughter. Phyllis created this incredible place, kept it away from everyone who tried to take it from her. You’re my hero – you inspire me every day, Summer sniffles. And now for a weepy hug and I love you’s. This is not goodbye.
Jack returns to the house to hear that Tara’s meeting Lauren about her shoe line. She was hoping to see Kyle to thank him. Jack updates that Summer’s leaving today. Don’t worry, Kyle won’t resent you or Harrison; this is Summer’s decision. Once she’s gone, he’s going to take a great deal of comfort in that boy.
Rushing into TGP lobby, Kyle asks for five minutes with Summer (who allows it over her Dad’s objection)
Billy’s at the house to tell Jack that he ran into Summer, and Kyle. Yes, he advised his nephew to go after her (and is surprised Jack didn’t) They can make it work; they love each other. Jack advised HIS son that some things aren’t meant to be – love doesn’t conquer all. Sometimes things don’t go as planned.
Lauren and Sally are wrapping up their talk when Tara joins them at Society. Lauren suggests champagne to celebrate Sally being named acting President of JVC. After Lauren excuses herself to take a call, Tara and Sally gloat about getting what they want (but Sally won’t relax until Summer’s on the plane)
Kyle pleads with Summer – the love we’ve felt for each other will only grow – and you’ll grow to love Harrison. It’s done – I’m leaving to live the life I want, Summer’s weepy but adamant; there’s no future for us – there’s nothing left to fight for. You’ll have a wonderful life, she continues – you’ll move on from me, and I’ll move on from you ~kiss~ In tears, Summer leaves Kyle to look at the engagement ring Summer slipped into his palm.
