Sharon and Nick watch on as Faith thanks Adam for saving her after the crash, and now again. We both know this doesn’t make up for what I’ve put you and your parents through, Adam’s sincere – going back to when I took you as a baby. Your life’s been harder because of me. That was never my intention, Adam doesn’t need thanks for donating his kidney – he’d be grateful if Faith would accept it as an apology. Faith can do that. Through the window, Rey’s not happy to see Sharon overcome with emotion.
Devon calls the school then loses the ‘cool’ factor by wondering whether Moses and Faith are more than friends. Make sure you eat before you go back to class, he instructs. Moses will.
Sutton’s sure he never spoke to Richard – he has plenty of enemies who don’t want him to run in the next election. It’s a made-up scandal. No, Sutton didn’t speak to Richard when he found out that Naya was pregnant. He didn’t even know he worked at NE and was just glad when Richard was out of Naya’s life. Amanda assures that her main focus is defending Sutton (not learning about her Father) It was nice seeing you again, Sutton says as he leaves.
Chelsea won’t be the scapegoat Victor blames Adam’s crimes on. Victor wants the truth to come out. Your plan has been discovered and you’ll have to come clean or lose Connor. I’d lose him either way, Chelsea knows she can’t win. Wrong – Victor knows a way they can all win.
If she doesn’t admit to the crime, Victor WILL find evidence to bury Chelsea. Oh? There’s none to find? Chloe might not agree – she doesn’t want to lose her kids by going to prison. You bastard, Chelsea hisses. The truth WILL come out, Victor assures – and when that happens, I can be your ally or your enemy. The choice is yours.
When Imani strolls into TGP, Sutton lectures her – Amanda’s trying to help our family, you should be grateful to her. Maybe I’ll surprise you, Imani marches towards the elevator. Devon sends Amanda a text – he just saw Imani in the lobby, she’s headed your way.
Nick updates his Mom that Adam and Faith had a good talk. When he sits on the table in the waiting room with a sigh, Nikki fusses – let’s go to the cafeteria for some food. Getting a text from Phyllis, Nick excuses himself. Where’s Sharon? Nikki asks. Hearing she’s talking to Rey, she won’t intrude.
Holding Faith’s teddy bear, Sharon understands that Rey’s there to arrest Adam, not see her. He’s annoyed to hear that she spoke to Adam this morning. Sharon thanked him. She thanks Rey too (for allowing Adam to be Faith’s donor) Seeing Sharon’s reaction when he vows to arrest Adam right after the surgery, Rey guesses she doesn’t want that to happen.
You just missed our grandfather, Amanda says as she lets Imani into her suite. Imani ran into him downstairs. I’m here to beg for your forgiveness – I’ve been rude but hope we can put the past behind us and start fresh. Do you expect me to believe a word you’re saying? Amanda clearly doesn’t.
Imani understands why Amanda doesn’t believe her. You had a restraining order and continued to be hostile after removing it, Amanda continues – you boycotted a family gathering because I was there. Imani worried how her Father would react to the news of her Mother having had children out of wedlock – but he’s fine with it and impressed by you. Imani admits that Amanda was right about her feeling insecure and threatened – she’d like to help with the case. Are you a lawyer? Imani graduated law school but didn’t get around to taking the bar exam. I’ll be in touch, she leaves.
Phyllis joins Nick in the waiting room to wonder where everyone is. She agrees that ‘Rey has it covered’ (there’s cops all over the place outside)
Sharon’s the one who told Adam to turn himself in – and he ran away instead. She couldn’t see any of this coming and would never tell Rey how to do his job. Rey thinks that wise, considering Sharon can’t be objective about Adam (who’s saved her daughter twice in one month) Sharon’s only surprised that Rey still plans to arrest Adam because he seemed to be having doubts about his guilt himself. When all this is over, what happens with us? Is there any hope? she asks bluntly.
Amanda lets Devon in and thanks him for tipping her off that Imani was on her way up. It looked like she and Sutton were having an intense conversation; conspiring, he informs. Imani’s done a 180 – she’s seen the light and wants to help me join the circle, Amanda’s sarcastic – apparently, I made quite an impression with her Father (though she suspects Sutton had more to do with it; he has a hold over his family) She’ll accept Imani’s offer to help with the case to see what’s really going on with her. There’s more to this than meets the eye, she’s sure.
Nikki brings Nick some soup and politely/cooly greets Phyllis before leaving them to chat. Phyllis thinks it a miracle that Nick was able to bring Adam back. How did you do it? What did you say to him?
Rey doesn’t think this a conversation he and Sharon should have right now. He then gets a call from Victor – demanding he come out to the ranch. Something happened with Chelsea that will change everything. He hangs up to grimace at Chelsea (who looks resigned to defeat)
Next week: Phyllis is with Jack at Society as he raises a glass to toast Kyle and Summer: may this be the beginning of a marvellous new Abbott Newman union…. Nate comes out of surgery looking serious as he removes his scrub cap. How’s our girl? Was the transplant a success? Nick and Sharon ask… You have to believe me – I’m so, so sorry, Chelsea sobs. Are you trying to confess to something? Rey asks (as Victor gives her stink eye)
