On the patio, Sharon asks for a word with Nick but it’ll have to wait as he, Rey and Faith are off to deliver bags of food. Phyllis appears to ask for rags to clean the kitchen. Hello – is there a problem? she asks the distracted Sharon. Figure it out, Sharon snaps and walks inside.
Trying to get Elena to admit that she was hoping it was Nate at her door, Amanda wants to get past the awkwardness. Nate’s a wonderful man but we weren’t meant to be. He’ll be a fabulous partner for a lucky lady out there. Elena sits back down – you were right when saying I don’t know what I want. It’s becoming clear but the last thing Elena wants to do is hurt Devon. He’ll be just fine, Amanda has a feeling.
Lily’s entire meal is from Aunt Maimi’s recipes. Nate quips that he can stir the gravy one-handed. Devon heard Elena’s back at the clinic. Our patients deserve the best care, they agree awkwardly.
Jack thanks all for coming – knowing Summer and Billy have other family to see, he appreciates them for making time and wants to see everyone here for many Thanksgivings to come. When the oven beeps, Ashley goes to check on dinner. Jack’s request that Billy do some consulting for Jabot while he steps aside from ChanceCom doesn’t go over well. You just want to keep me busy so I don’t gamble and drink, Billy accuses. You helped me kick the pills, Jack reminds – it’s what brothers do. Angry, Billy will go see his kids – they don’t have knives out for me, he slams out.
All stuffed, Jack thanks Summer for the pies. Now what? Football or a movie? Summer has to go make the rounds now. Thanks again. You didn’t ask her to stay, Jack scolds Kyle. He’s further puzzled when Kyle puts his coat on and leaves to finish what his Dad started.
Wine in hand, Amanda’s reminded of hanging out with girlfriends in college. Coming home, Lola’s happy to see them enjoying themselves – leftovers anyone? No, the ladies are stuffed. Elena suddenly gets emotional. She messed up royally but Lola gave her a place to stay and Amanda saved her from wallowing in self-pity; she’s glad to know such incredible people.
Praised on cooking a superb dinner, Lily has to go discuss business with Billy – the media never sleeps. I cooked so you guys clean. No one leaves until the kitchen’s spotless, she orders. Think you can manage loading the dishwasher? Devon asks. With one hand tied behind my back, Nate replies.
What took you so long? Summer jumps up when Kyle walks into his suite. She was beginning to think Kyle slipped her his room key just to torture her.
Nick asks his Dad if he’s OK. Barely looking up from his phone, Victor wishes Nick showed as much concern for his brother. Phyllis is about to tell Nick that she may have let the cat out of the bag when Sharon calls out – Nick, I need to talk to you about our daughter’s drinking. See you at the hotel, Phyllis escapes. What the hell Nick? Sharon’s mad – I had to find out from Phyllis that our daughter’s drinking?! Nick didn’t want to put any stress on her. You keep this from me after the way we lost Cassie? Sharon’s in disbelief. Dad – how could you? Faith’s appearance leaves Nick caught between two hurt ladies.
Lola’s sorry she brought up Devon. Elena now realizes she could never be what Hilary was to him. Nobody ever will, Amanda then asks what Elena could be to Nate. He likes me a lot and Elena likes that. After Lola and Amanda leave, Elena texts Nate ‘Happy Thanksgiving, hope to see you at the clinic soon’.
A sip of beer Sharon might have understood, but hard liquor? You have no idea what it’s been like for me (after the Adam expose) Faith’s near tears. Dad got through to me and I’ll never, ever drink again. It was a dumb mistake. She didn’t expect her Dad to dump this on her Mom. Not mentioning that it was Phyllis who tattled, Nick didn’t promise. Can’t we just forget this? Faith pleads. No, this is a big deal – you have to be honest with your Dad and me, Sharon insists.
At TGP, Phyllis is all alone and looking lonely.
Kyle had to be alone with Summer. He’s made mistakes. Summer regrets her jealousy and insecurities.
Jack admits that it’s his fault Billy left so early – I pushed him away. He’ll come back home, it’s what we Abbotts do, Ashley reassures.
At Society, Billy gives Lily his version of Jack’s ‘concern’ for him. Drink? Unless you have someplace to be. Lily’s exactly where she needs to be right now.
Over ‘killer’ Cognac, Nate wonders whether Lily’s coming back. No, she expects us to have a heart to heart talk then put the past behind us, Devon replies. That won’t happen today, Nate can see – if ever. This is a first step, Devon says. Glad they were able to take it, Nate crosses the hall to his own place.
Back at CL’s, Victor’s still down in the dumps about Adam. I’ll always be there for him. You’ve done your best now be thankful for your blessings, Nikki thinks they have much to be thankful for – like Abby’s wedding. You’re pretty and I love you, Victor attempts a smile.
Next week: At the Chancellor estate (with Jill) Jack comments on the coming together of three GC families with a whole boatload of history for this very special day … Who would have thought the three of us would be brought together as parents of the bride and groom, Ashley smiles at Victor and Nina….. I can’t do it Mariah, Abby wails. On the other side of the door, Mariah asks – can’t do what? Marry an amazing guy? I can’t do this to Chance, Abby sobs.
