When Summer arrives, Theo correctly assumes she’s looking for Kyle. If so, he’s in the kitchen. Summer makes a beeline to look through the window – and isn’t happy by what she sees.
Back at CL’s, Billy doesn’t understand why Phyllis doesn’t want him to go after Victor. She’s in a good place right now. You’ll blow it up, Billy’s sure; just like you did with me, Jack, and Nick. Asked how long she really thinks it’ll last with Nick, Phyllis leaves without answering.
Victor’s dealing with the repercussions of a decision he made years ago. He wanted to save his boy; what parent wouldn’t understand that? Vikki sighs – we’re all left to deal with the fallout. Victor has one favour to ask – find out what Billy plans to publish. Yes, he expects Vikki to spy on her ex for her family. What happens to all of us is on your hands. Not making any promises, Vikki leaves.
You’re a special kind of troll, Summer scowls at Theo – you knew what I’d see when I looked into the kitchen. Listing reasons why Theo might want payback, Summer snarls ‘this is why you’re alone’ – when someone sees who you really are, they run. Affected by her words, Theo’s even more unhappy watching Kyle follow Lola out of the kitchen.
Welcoming Nick to the ranch, Victor reports that he spoke to Vikki earlier and wants to relay that before it gets ‘lost in translation.’ The situation’s dire and could impact all of us, and destroy the company. Nick doesn’t want his Mom or Christian caught in the crossfire. Victor knows that when push comes to shove, Nick will have his back. Nick saw Mom earlier – this is killing her. You’ve always told me that family comes first – and that’s why Nick will help in any way he can.
Got a minute? Theo’s in the kitchen to apologize to Lola. He saw Kyle earlier – are things alright? Yes, he was checking on me (which is nice) He still cares about you and pulled the trigger on the divorce too soon. Theo thinks it wouldn’t be too hard for Lola to win Kyle back. We both know you still want him.
Summer confronts Kyle in the park. She was him at Society with Lola. That’s over – you’re the only one I want, Kyle didn’t tell Summer because he didn’t want to hurt her. Nothing will keep us from having the life we deserve.
Nick’s in Phyllis’ suite to report that whatever’s going on with Adam is getting to his Mom. Phyllis talked to Billy – ChanceCom’s going to publish something explosive; don’t get sucked into this (by your Dad) Phyllis quickly realizes that Nick already is. This is about family, Nick states. Sure, Phyllis gets that – but what if whatever comes out annihilates Adam?
Returning to the ranch, Nikki asks what she missed. Victor hasn’t heard from Adam but had a busy afternoon (letting Nick and Vikki know how serious the situation is) Vikki might know more than she’s letting on. Nikki hates to say it, but agrees.
Kyle should have told Summer that he was going to see Lola. Jack has reservations about their engagement but he’s not worried. This wedding’s going to happen. Everyone can celebrate that or get out of the way.
Are you out of your mind? Lola resents Theo for twisting things around. She’s not interested in his help – and not interested in him at all. She’s disgusted by his suggestion. Go and stay gone. Theo obediently leaves.
Nick runs a hypothetical by Phyllis – if, by some miracle, Adam has to pay for what he’s done, he’s OK with that and would like a front-row seat.
Nikki tells Victor that she heard Vikki talking to Billy on the phone – then went to Lily. Vikki knows what the reporter’s investigating. If she seemed surprised by what Billy’s planning, it was an act. Grimly concluding that Vikki’s teaming up with Billy, Victor quotes Shakespeare; how sharper than a serpent’s tooth it is to have a thankless daughter.
Vikki rushes into CL’s to breathlessly inform Billy that her Dad’s got someone tailing Alyssa; he knows that she’s working on a story for ChanceCom. Maybe he knows I’m involved, she frets. How bad will this blowback be for my family? she seems to be second-guessing her involvement. I thought you didn’t care, Billy reminds. I don’t, Vikki lies (based on how worried she looks after Billy leaves)
