Summer tells Mariah that she and Kyle will be more discreet – neither of us wants to cause Lola more pain. No more talk of househunting while Lola’s here, she reiterates then exits. When Lola comes out of the kitchen, Mariah can tell that she overheard. At the bar, Lola wastes no time saying to Kyle ‘I hear you’re house hunting’.
Nick’s tried cutting Victor off – but always gets sucked back in by the next crisis. You should be more like Abby, Phyllis shocks them both by saying. She admires the way Abby’s made her own life and thinks Nick should protect his own heart the way he protects everyone else’s.
Lola won’t fall apart. How can I make it easier? Kyle asks. Easier for you? Lola doesn’t want to argue – you should move in with Summer. I’m moving on too; nothing serious like you guys – just a little fun.
Mariah tells Theo that Lola and Kyle are having a conversation; she was taken off-guard by the news that he and Summer are house hunting. Did Lola say anything about … ? Theo stammers. About what? Mariah feigns innocence.
Not wanting updates on whatever Kyle’s up to with Summer, Lola marches away from Kyle and makes a beeline for Theo (who’s back at Society because he missed her) That leaves Mariah to give Kyle some insight – you were Lola’s first love; she needs to know it meant something to you too.
Jack opines that the Abbott kids are all successful but missing something from their lives. Speak for yourself, Traci chuckles. Jack vows to have everything his parents wanted for him – and more.
Careful, those knives are sharp, Theo jokes about what happens to him at the sight of blood. His attempt to be supportive rub Lola the wrong way. I have a restaurant to run, she leaves him to pout.
At the park, Summer feels bad that Lola overheard their plans. She’d have found out anyway, Kyle shrugs it off. Maybe we should find a real estate agent. Summer has a better idea – which she’ll share on the drive to Jabot.
When you want to talk you know where to find me, Theo says then leaves looking hurt when Lola mutters ‘don’t hold your breath’.
Nick can’t turn his back on people who need him. But who needs you? Phyllis asks. Not Vikki. Sharon’s got Rey. Nikki knew what she was getting herself into. You don’t need to throw yourself on a grenade for anyone and Phyllis can think of better uses for Nick’s time and energy.
Dad wanted us to be happy but Traci doesn’t think Jack needs to make big changes in his life because of an old movie. She’s content being single but can tell Jack isn’t. Tearing up, Jack feels the best is yet to come.
