Vikki thanks the press for coming on such short notice. Touching on her recent injuries and regaining the CEO position and her health, Vikki plans to use her Father’s inspiration to lead the company; acknowledging past mistakes etc. ‘Victoria, no – please don’t’, Chelsea pleads as she looks over Sharon’s shoulder. ‘My God, she’s going to do it’, Adam also looks terrified.
Hinting at an announcement to come, Vikki introduces Billy and Jack. As everyone watches on, Vikki prattles on about Newman and announces that she’s streamlining operations; Jabot will purchase Newman Cosmetics while Chancellor Communications will acquire the media division. Similar divestments are in the works. Yes, Jack would be delighted to say a few words. Everyone watching reacts. Vikki’s calling the shots and there’s nothing we can do about it, Adam turns off the TV in disgust. Victor chuckles – we’ll see about that.
Back at the house, Abby’s eager to help Traci find the old movies. Hearing that Jack looked everywhere and couldn’t find them, she doesn’t think they’re necessarily out of luck.
No offense but Sharon will take Adam’s lead on this. Oh, he didn’t tell you? I just had breast cancer surgery, she shocks Chelsea.
Chelsea’s so sorry – she had no idea and is even more stunned that Sharon would take on Adam’s problems. Both want to do what’s best for him. Adam needs to confront his past head-on, Sharon persists.
Abby saw a box of stuff in Paris. Excited, Traci makes a call to whoever’s guarding Dina’s things.
Victor appears to express disapproval of Vikki selling divisions to Billy Boy and JagAbbott. This is payback for me replacing you with Adam for a few weeks – get over it. I’m still chairman of this company. You’re playing with fire my dear, he warns.
Traci ends a call with Marcel to update Abby that the box is being sent to GC. It could be exactly what we’re looking for.
By the time Nick returns, Phyllis is back in her robe and freshly showered. Nick watched the press conference with his Mom – it was hard on her but Victor did this to himself. Phyllis wonders what secret weapon put Vikki back in the big chair. Revealing not details, Nick will only say that his sister learned she can’t earn Dad’s respect, you have to demand it.
What other divisions are on the block? Victor’s furious. Told that a reporter wants to talk to her, Vikki leaves Nikki to announce that she’s happy that at least she didn’t throw Adam to the wolves. He’s accepted the fact that he killed AJ but doesn’t remember what happened that day, Victor mumbles. Hopefully, he keeps it that way, he concludes cryptically.
Chelsea’s back at the penthouse to hear that Adam now realizes that Victor’s protective of him. I know you don’t want me to dwell on this, he catches himself. Chelsea just came from Sharon’s and has changed her mind. If Adam can face his memories – she can too.
My thoughts: Thanks to Google Adsense, I can see that the fourth-highest number of viewers to this site are from France and I can only imagine how much you cringe whenever a GC resident butchers your beautiful language …. Ha ha ha. My sides! Please stop Victor. Adam’s ‘impressive’ brain protected him from his memories so he could lead a ‘normal’ life? What about his life has ever been normal? Certainly not faking blindness, seducing his male lawyer friend, stealing Sharon’s baby to give it to Ashley (after gaslighting/haunting her causing her to miscarry) committing arson to cover for Sharon’s arson, releasing Patty from the psych ward, not to mention framing his Father and Nick for murder, faking his death numerous times to reappear as Gabriel, then Spider. etc. etc. etc… Amnesia must be hereditary. All the Newmans have had it. In fact, you’d probably have a hard time finding a longtime GC resident who hasn’t had the odd blackout… As I’m adjusting my schedule to get back to work on the spoilers, I will be wading through unread emails in my long-abandoned inbox and PayPal subscription list. Any payments made over the hiatus will be refunded and cancelations processed. As we hopefully get back to normalcy, I will then turn my attention to updating other sections of the website.
