When Jill joins him on the CL’s patio, Devon’s sending Elena a text – updating her that this should all be over soon and he’ll never have to see Amanda again. Jill’s not so sure. Confirming that they both want Kay’s wishes respected, Jill finds it hard to say – but thinks Devon needs to consider that these pages Cane’s bringing back might be real.
Envelope in hand, Cane arrives at TGP to run into Nate (who blurts out that whatever he had with Abby is done – burnt to a crisp done.)Did you find Chance? No – he found me, in a way. Cane thought he hit a dead end but didn’t. He’s not sure how he feels about it.
Cradling an imaginary baby in her arms, Summer teases Kyle – wahhhhhh. Are you guys trying? We’re thinking of the future – way down the road. Can we just get back to work? Summer scoots over to look at houses online and reminisce about a house they used to pass by. Kyle will add it to the list – thanks for your help.
Lola might have to hire security – Theo can’t just walk into her kitchen anytime. His client canceled. No, Lola (chopping vegetables) doesn’t enjoy his company or his persistence and indomitable spirit. That’s what his Dad used to say – some martial arts thing. What? Lola now pays attention – those are tenents of Tai Kwon Do. Why are you really here – what do you want of me?
Amanda meets Cane at TGP to ask how he got the pages of Kay’s will. He’s vague – it’s cloak and dagger, he didn’t speak to Chance. This is what you’ve been looking for – get them authenticated.
Hello son, Adrian abandons the lady he’s chatting up to greet Kyle. Too soon? Have I done something to upset you? Kyle gave Adrian money to leave town. Your presence is hurting Lola. Adrian’s made mistakes; what Father hasn’t – you and your Father weren’t always on good terms but healed the rift between you. He’s just trying to do the same with Lola.
Still wanting to make amends with Kyle, Theo thought they made progress last time the three of them talked. No, he’s not ‘messing’ with Lola or ‘playing games’. Showing up in my kitchen uninvited isn’t the way to make things right with Kyle, she walks into the dining room. Theo follows – sorry, he was goofing around before. He’s had a rough couple of weeks. He appreciates her not telling anyone that he fainted at the sight of blood. Lola’s nice and he talking to her made him feel good. Oh look, there’s my date. Yeah we’re good, Lola looks over at Summer.
Seated at Society, Summer passes along Kyle’s great idea – sending influencers to art festivals. Sorry for rambling on about Kyle – you know I’m over him, right? I helped him look at houses today – in good school districts. Are you really OK with all this? If Kyle’s wife is cool with you guys working together, why wouldn’t I? Theo reasons. He’s ready for everything to be chill between the four of them. Summer’s so happy to hear that – you’ve really turned a corner. Theo’s serious about taking things in a new direction.
At home, Kyle has 10 houses on the list to show Lola. She likes the cute craftsman. It makes the cut. What about this one? Lola thinks it too formal. Summer and I thought you’d like it. Summer? I can see why you guys like it – you both grew up in big houses. If we can afford a house that size, Kyle doesn’t see the problem. It’s too big for Lola. OK – let’s start fresh again in the morning. We’ll find the perfect place. Neither looks happy as they hug.
Amanda tells Cane that the statute of limitations has run out – we can’t take this to court even in the pages are real. Devon won’t even look at them. Amanda now feels that she’s been used. Devon won’t budge – let it go Mr Ashby.
My Thoughts: Abby said so many stupid things I barely know where to begin. Summer’s ‘dramatic’ and ‘makes everything about her’?? Oh really? Abby’s hardly a stranger to being dramatic and has made many incidents about herself by whining about her family not keeping her in the loop. And it’s laughable to think that the Newman family is always in ‘solidarity’ and ‘act as one’ based on Victor’s decisions. Perhaps she’s forgetting the many times the family has gone against each other in court. The Newmans weren’t in solidarity when testifying to put Victor in prison – or when Abby, Vikki and Nick sued Victor for 500 million each! And Abby will always be loyal to family? Except when being disloyal by carrying on an affair with Summer’s husband… Oh yeah – Nate did put his career on the line when verifying Victor’s death. Luckily for him, there seems to be no pesky Chief of Staff or Dean to ask him about falsifying medical records. Surely, declaring a man dead violates the Hippocratic Oath…. Abby takes Nate off to ‘somewhere quiet’ – then chooses a table in the middle of her restaurant for a private chat…. It’s inevitable – but who will hook up first? Theo and Lola? or Kyle and Summer? And then there’s Devon or Amanda and Nate and Elena.
