Chloe and Chelsea have a teary chat about Delia living on in Connor – she gave him the amazing gift of sight. Chelsea then confides that Connor seems broken – he doesn’t know who he can trust after repeatedly having his heart broken. I don’t know the right things to say, Chelsea just wants her son to be happy. He will be, Chloe reassures.
When Sharon arrives at Nick’s with some building blocks, he calls Chelsea to ask if she’s coming home soon. Yes, but start without me – Connor might be more honest if I’m not there. Given the building set that Sharon found in Faith’s closet, Connor’s agreeable to building something with her (much to her and Nick’s relief)
Is John the name you meant to say? Jack asks. Yes – I loved John, Dina smiles – but Stewart…. What about Stewart? Jack asks – but lets it go when Dina asks where she is and demands to go home, right now.
At Jabot, tearing up over a photo of Delia on his phone, Billy gets a call from Vikki – thanks for checking on me. See you and the kids later. I love you too. Billy then gets a text from Victor – we need to talk about the night you tried to kill my son.
When Ester shows up at TGP, Chloe guesses Kevin called for reinforcement. He just wants her to be surrounded by people who love her. Thank you, Chloe looks up from her laptop briefly – you’re both just going to watch me type? OK, fine – she closes her laptop and suggesting a break knows exactly where they should go.
Their ‘fortress’ built, Sharon mentions Connor’s Dad working for his grandpa. Him being dead, then alive is pretty confusing. Yes, Sharon knows Connor’s Dad – he’s a complicated man. He’s a liar, Connor wonders – why did he leave? Sharon knows Adam loves his son very much. Everyone lies, Connor sighs then becomes agitated when Chelsea comes home. You’re a liar too! he marches off. Sharon apologizes – maybe she overstepped by bringing up Adam. It’s not your fault, Chelsea agrees to think about calling a licensed child psychologist. After Sharon leaves, Chelsea tells Nick that she’s scared – for the first time she looked into Connor’s eyes and saw nothing but Adam.
Jack’s home to update Traci that Dina will recover from her fracture. He’s more worried about her mentioning Stewart, a newspaperman. Stewart Brooks? Traci wonders. He was in that old country club photo (which she pulls out of a box) If there’s a connection between Mother and Stewart Brooks, she vows to find it.
In the park, Billy gets a text from Jill – she had to leave town but is thinking of him and left something for Delia. He then joins Chloe, Kevin and Ester to report that Jill was the one who tied a pink ribbon around Delia’s tree. She’s looking down on us, he smiles.
Nick’s sure Connor will get past this – kids are resilient. He’ll grow up to be like Chelsea, not Adam. Hearing a cry from upstairs, she bolts – Connor!?
Chloe, Kevin, Billy and Ester are delighted when Traci and Jack arrive with flowers. All reminisce about what a great kid Delia was. Jack’s given permission to say a few words – this tree is a fitting tribute – roots spreading – branches reaching to the sky. Delia’s gift lies in all of us. It’s up to us to continue her legacy, Billy adds. We love you Dee Dee. All join hands to form a circle around Delia’s tree.
