Kyle thanks all for coming and invites his bride to say a few words (of praise for the beautiful wedding her husband planned) As the newlyweds dance, Phyllis hugs Summer – that sappy display was enough to make anyone nauseous. One day, she’ll throw her daughter a wedding way better than this dog and pony show – and Summer will wear a dress not ‘off the rack’. When Abby invites all to join in on the dancefloor, Phyllis takes up most of the space with Summer.
As asked, Vikki’s covering for Billy. He wasn’t feeling well, she lies to Traci. He actually doesn’t look well as he arrives on the CL’s patio and sees Mike chatting with Adam inside. For some reason, he takes his anger out on a piece of chewing gum – the level of jaw muscle twitching increases.
Arturo joins his brother and Father behind the flimsy curtain. When will Lola be told he’s there? After the speeches and cake-cutting. After Adrian excuses himself to the men’s room, Rey and Arturo feel pressed for time – he won’t buy our act much longer – we need to convince Dad that this is a bad idea. Speaking of Fathers – Rey hasn’t forgotten that he briefly thought the baby Mia’s about to pop out was his. Awkward.
Hey, Summer takes Kyle aside. Yes, this is uncomfortable but you and Lola were meant to be together. After all we’ve been through, Kyle’s happy they can be friends. Clean slate? Yes, Summer would like to put the past behind them. As she runs off before the tears (and vomit) spill, Phyllis darts after her. Theo arrives with a young lady on his arm. Judging by Kyle’s reaction, she’s the underage girl who can’t hold her liquor.
Billy chews his gum furiously as he eavesdrops from the patio. Adam wants to kick things into high gear once Mike’s DA. With the powerful forces against him, he doesn’t have time to play this safe. If we’re not careful, we could have nothing but time – 8 to 10 years, Mike warns.
Arturo has no excuses but an apology that Rey doesn’t need. He just wants his niece or nephew to have a good life. Hoping he’s a good Father, Arturo (when tested) will ask himself ‘what would Rey do’. As for now, the brothers vow to protect Lola on her wedding day.
Kyle thanks Abby then is about to approach Theo when the Abbott’s and Lola surround him. Jack takes to the stage to say how proud Dina would be of him if she were able to attend. With some praise and humour, he asks all to raise a glass. To Kyle and Lola. Celeste steps up to thank Jack and add a few kind words. Spotting Theo, Lola can’t believe he and his date are crashing their wedding. As Kyle goes to take care of it, Rey’s whisper to Celeste has her running after him. What the hell are you doing here? Kyle finally gets the chance to hiss at Theo. I brought you a present – Zeo. She almost died – how could I forget? Kyle’s not happy.
As Celeste, Rey and Arturo are loudly trying to convince Adrian to leave, Lola’s stunned to find them all in her tent (which is inadequately soundproofed even if they had the common sense to pull the flap closed) ‘Mia’, Adrian grins and opens his arms wide. (either he got the name wrong or my hearing is off)
We’re doing this my way, Adam insists. This isn’t a negotiation. Tossing $20 on the table, he exits. What the hell’s going on with you two? Billy makes a beeline for Mike. Does this have anything to do with Kevin? People were worried when he hung out with Adam – and now you’ve taken your brother’s place. Why did you drop Nick’s custody case and petition the court for Adam? Not intimidated by Billy’s talk of rats, Mike warns him to ‘watch it’ before he finds himself ‘cheese’. Billy’s left to glare at the door with suspicion as continues to chew the favour off his gum.
