In the kitchen, Lola puts her engagement ring on a plate then goes to oversee sauce that’s too think. A busboy comes along to put the dish (and ring) into his bin of dirty dishes.
Back on the patio, Billy gives Vikki a pep talk. No one wants that human wrecking ball out of town more than me – but any action taken against Adam must be well-planned; methodical. Vikki agrees – foolproof. Kevin comes out to catch up and casually fish for info. He can’t believe Adam’s back. Assuming he’ll try to worm his way back into Newman, Kevin wonders how Vikki will fight back.
Lola’s busy with dinner prep when Kyle pops in to give his fiancee a kiss. Neither notice the busboy still carrying around a bin of dirty dishes – and a ring. Kyle comes out as Summer’s companion leaves her table. What happened to Theo? he wonders. Sipping her drink, Summer’s having a working meal with an intern. She’s not pining over Kyle and whatever was wrong with her the other day (in the meeting with Billy) is none of his business.
Having a few minutes before the ceremony starts, Abby’s appears behind the bar to offer Nate a drink on the house. He has something to talk to her about. Devon interrupts to ask about seeing moving boxes outside Nate’s place. You sold my Dad’s penthouse? he’s surprised – and further upset that he sold it to Adam Newman. Nate’s donating the proceeds to the hospital to save lives – what Neil would want. We shouldn’t be fighting over Neil’s things – this night is about him, Devon accepts Nate’s decision and excuses himself to greet Ana. About earlier … Don’t worry about it, Ana brushes him off and keeps walking.
Is that what you wanted to talk to me about? Selling the penthouse? Yeah, Nate wanted advice on how to tell Devon. Abby believes that if Nate knew Adam better he’d understand why Devon’s so upset.
Vikki and Billy tell Kevin that Adam’s pitting the Newmans against each other because Chelsea won’t let him see Connor – so he’s going after Christian (using money Vikki gave him to leave town) That’s what Adam does, Kevin’s animated – he uses leverage to get what he can. He takes and takes til there’s nothing left. He caused Chloe’s breakdown and killed Delia. Billy admits it’s not easy having Adam around as a reminder. Understanding why they want Adam gone, Kevin will help in any way he can. Vikki and Billy have decided to do nothing – they won’t be dragged down to Adam’s level and recommend Kevin walk away from all this. See you around, Kevin goes inside saying he’s got some work to do.
Standing onstage beside the plaque, Devon tells the audience that coming home to hear his sister and her Father singing lifted a weight from him. Neil talked about music replacing sadness with joy. Raise your glasses – here’s to a great man and his love for music that will live on. My Dad would appreciate you all coming and want us to party. Let’s do it. To Neil, all applaud and clink glasses.
Ester’s stunned to bump into Kevin at CL’s. Why didn’t you call to say you’re in town? Hearing he’s staying at the club, Ester insists he stay at the house. Kevin explains why Bella’s not with him and distracts her with photos of Bella. Assuming he knows Adam’s in town, Ester warns Kevin to stay away from him. And come to the house tonight! After she leaves, Kevin texts Adam to say that Vikki’s not planning anything.
On the patio, Billy tells a worried Vikki that he’s not hiding his feelings (about Adam) from her. With a quick kiss, he leaves for a meeting he’s late for. I’ll bring pizza home for the kids. Vikki’s left to worry some more.
