Being the great doctor he is, Nate bandages Abby’s cut. She thanks him for dropping by to check on her – very sweet. Nate knows she’s been going through a lot. Abby and agree that it’s a miracle Adam survived – but his return has Abby’s head spinning. Nate won’t pry but if you need a friend, I’m here.

On the CL’s patio, Cane preps Dave for his job interview. Smile and be sincere – ask questions. Let them know why you want to be part of the company – play up your strengths. And if they ask about my past? Be honest – let them know you want a fresh start. Dave really needs this job – his days of stealing are over. Being away from his wife and kids was torture. Cane understands. Good luck, he shakes Dave’s hand.

When Jack comes home, Traci updates that Dina’s terrified – she doesn’t know where she is and lashed out verbally and physically (slapping my hand away) She’s never been aggressive like this. Please try to get through to her. Dina? Dina? Do I know you? Yes, we’re family – we’re here to help, Jack hugs her and reassures – everything will be OK.

A man walked into the station and confessed, Paul announces. That’s incredible, Adam’s astonished. Shown a photo on Paul’s phone, Adam does indeed recognize a man he beat at cards in Vegas. What a relief knowing that lunatic’s in custody, he sighs. I’m glad it’s over. Paul never said it was over.

Anyone who wants more garnish is out of luck, Abby decides. Tell them you have a doctor’s note, Nate quips. He then declines a free drink for the medical attention. Would you like to go to dinner sometime? Abby asks. No, not a date – a simple IOU between friends. Nate agrees.

His story doesn’t make sense to Paul. A guy flies halfway across the country to shoot you in cold blood – avoids all the ranch security then turns himself in the very next day? Maybe he couldn’t handle the guilt? Maybe he’s scared Victor will track him down? Adam suggests. Paul suspects he was paid or coerced into confessing to cover the truth. He also finds it interesting that Adam didn’t catch a glimpse of his shooter. Attempted murder cases don’t usually get resolved this easily. Every so often things are exactly as they appear, Adam stares with intensity.

After putting Dina to bed, Jack comes down to ask Traci if this seems sudden – the last few weeks have been a turn for the worse. Traci thinks Dina would be better off in a facility. This home might not be safe for her anymore. With all the safeguards in place, she managed to slip out. What if her aggressive behaviour escalates – what if she harms herself? She too wanted Dina’s last days to be spent here but it might not be what’s best anymore. You’re right, it’s time, Jack gives Traci a hug.

Paul notes how lucky Adam is – back from the grave; Victor had all his charges dropped and the low life who shot him serves himself up on a silver platter. Adam agrees – I’m extremely unfortunate. Everyone’s winning streak comes to an end sooner or later, Paul expects Adam to make himself available for questioning. Of course, happy to cooperate, Adam glares. I was just leaving, Paul holds the stare when Nate arrives to check his patient.

Traci’s sure that Ashley will agree – she researched a lot of memory-care facilities in the area. The info’s in the study. Jack mentions the place him and Ashley checked out last year – and there might be a local option. Traci will help in any way she can. Cane makes another surprise visit to update Traci on his first day on the job. She’s making excuses when Jack insists Traci go for a walk – take your time. I’ll be here.
