Abby’s not surprised by Lola’s news; she expected Kyle would soon realize he made a big mistake in marrying Summer (who she clearly doesn’t like much at all) Lola’s conflicted – I owe her my life. Abby puts the subject aside and is thrilled to hear that Kyle’s planning a surprise for Lola tonight. It’ll be amazing, she leaves Lola to fantasize about how awkward things might go with Kyle tonight. Think positive, she chides herself then reimagines the scene going even worse (this time Kyle looks repulsed when looking at her naked body) Lola then gets a text from Kyle – he’s counting down the minutes.
Still on the patio, Devon reports getting a lot of interest from producers etc. about Jet’s great performance at Society’s opening. You could tour playing your classics or record some new stuff. When Elana worries that Jet will push himself too hard, Devon assures that he won’t let that happen – let’s discuss it over dinner tonight. Jet can’t – he needs his rest. But you two go – Elana can represent me. Both men look pleased when she agrees.
On the roof of the restaurant, a bare-chested Kyle’s putting up a string of lights. Yes, his lady will like it – she doesn’t like anything fancy, he assures the sceptical plaid-shirt, clipboard guy.
Complimenting Lola on a dish that seems to be an aphrodesiac, Abby wastes little time guessing that this could be the big night for her and Kyle. How exciting. Whoa – Lola does NOT want to hear about Abby’s first time with her brother! What if Kyle doesn’t like what he sees? What if there’s no chemistry? What if I can’t satisfy him? For guys, it’s like pizza – there IS no bad pizza, Abby grins. Lola can’t help but think about how experienced Kyle is – what if I don’t measure up? He loves you – you love him – that’s all that matters, Abby’s rewarded with a grateful hug.
Now that the contract’s signed, Ana talks about the ‘hard work’ – scheduling recording time and deciding on a new look for Tessa. Oh. Wow. This one looks like an alien, Mariah jokes at whatever’s on Ana’s tablet. It’s avante guard, Ana just wants to introduce Tessa as a new artist – to erase any connection to the one who was busted/fired for plagiarizing – no offence. None taken, Tessa’s quickly onboard. Mariah gets that but worries a crazy costume or hairstyle might overshadow Tessa’s unique talent and looks troubled when Tessa and Ana change the subject – let’s focus on the music for now. Both are eager to get into the studio. Mariah looks left out.
Over dinner at Society, Traci talks about the kind things Neil said when Colleen died. Jill has fond memories too – he doted on those twins. She’s glad Neil moved to Lakewood to be there for Lily – and that Traci’s been there for Cane. Abby comes along to ask how dinner was then summons Lola over out for introductions and praise. All stand to greet Devon and Elana. After more introductions and expressions of concern and condolences, Abby seats the pair. Elana notes that a lot of people care about Devon. Yes, but looking over at the framed photo of Neil, Devon feels alone.
