Ted opens an envelope addressed to Jabot from the US Patent and Trademark Office. A quick read sends him scurrying into Phyllis’ office. We’ve got a problem – all of our patent requests have been rejected. Find Kerry! Phyllis orders and is left to scowl as she reads – how the hell did this happen??
At CL’s, Kerry answers her phone – I was just thinking about you. Inviting her over to share a bottle of wine, Jack hangs up and tells Billy there’s no need for him to stick around. He’ll handle this alone.
You were Lola’s donor? What the hell were you thinking!? Nick suspects immediately that Kyle married Summer so she’d save his ex-girlfriend. Cutting off her denial, Nick wants to hear from Kyle – who claims he’s 100% committed and does love Summer (who’s then sent off to pack her stuff while Kyle explains to Nick that he couldn’t be the man Lola needed because he never got over Summer)
Phone in hand, Lola looks at Kyle’s messages as Abby washes out the mugs and muses that it must be weird – so many things changing while she was in the hospital; Mia, Arturo – Kyle marrying Summer. As they chuckle about having bad taste in men, Lola winces is pain but is really happy to be laughing again – thank you.
Billy bursts into Phyllis’ office – tell me you dug up info on Kerry’s intern. Phyllis has bigger problems – all our new patents were rejected. Every single product we’re about to launch? On what grounds? The formulas already belong to another company. Billy tells Phyllis to forget Kerry – we need to find out who Dominique is. She’s the one who registered these patents to another company – all under your nose.
Kerry loves the wine Jack’s poured for her – is this foreplay for another bargaining session? she flirts. Speaking of which, Jack has her contract – everything she asked for and some surprises. Look at the last page. Kerry’s not surprised to see the name Dominique Carol. Who is she? Jack demands to know. It’s me – c’est moi, Kerry replies casually.
Phyllis accuses Billy of being behind this ‘sneak attack’ – he and Jack are conspiring against her for the CEO job. You think we’d sabotage this company over you? Billy updates that Jack’s with Kerry right now. He then gets an alert on his phone – announcing an emergency board meeting; here, now. He has no idea whose number this came from.
Who owns Premier Cosmetics? Is this your company? Someone else’s – how long have you been undermining Jabot? Check your text, Kerry heads for the door. Where are you going? Same place as you – it really was spectacular Jack, she smugly finishes her wine and leaves him to check his phone and rush out too.
Abby gets the same message – an emergency board meeting at Jabot? She’ll just get the details later – discussing the restaurant with Lola is more important. Now that you’re back on your feet we can move forward. No way I was moving on without you. Oh, it’s happening, girl. Lola thanks Abby for believing in her ~hug~
Kyle ignores his phone to continue his discussion with Nick (who makes it clear that if he hurts Summer, it won’t be pretty) Yes Sir, Kyle understands. Glad we had this talk, Nick gets up and leaves Kyle looking depressed.
When Lauren arrives, Phyllis is sorry she came down – those texts must have been a prank. I’ll fill you in when I get to the source of the problem. Lauren knows when she’s being rushed out. Ted appears and is told to tell the two board members he has on hold that there’s no meeting. Hearing that Billy’s tracking down Dominique, Lauren’s even more interested – who’s Dominique? Enter Traci – who’s also told that there’s no meeting. Billy arrives – Dominique isn’t in the lab, she’s never been in the lab. Traci and especially Lauren are even more confused and curious.
