As Ashley reads the press release on his tablet, Billy again warns her not tank this project. Since he already bled R&D dry, Ashley assumes Billy plans to lay off employees. Not denying it, Billy tells Ashley to focus on her job – come up with the next best thing. It’d be good if you’d accept that Jabot’s on the upswing, he raises his voice as Ashley slams out.
Mariah will order drinks and make it clear to Kyle’s date that she’s no threat. You have terrible taste in women and aren’t my type. Yes, Kyle reiterates that he wants Mariah to leave. Realizing that Kyle’s still a jerk and sure he’ll ruin his date, Mariah leaves him to join Sinnead. When she immediately brings up poker, Kyle brings up the name of a man Sinnead owes money to. How would you like to make that IOU disappear?
Vikki’s now at CL’s for the scoop on Rey. He’s a debt collector, Sharon thinks that a good thing – he believes JT’s still out there. Disagreeing, Vikki reminds that Nick was the one who used JT’s credit cards (now we’re keeping his secret too) Cook Rey some of that meatloaf all the men go gaga over, Vikki orders Sharon to make nice (since she’s the one Rey opened up to)
Vikki seems to have forgotten that she summoned Billy to her office. She doesn’t want to join him in colouring; she doesn’t need to get drunk – or lighten up. Billy knows Vikki well enough to see that she’s stressed out. Let’s get outta here. Trust me – just this once.
Sharon appreciates Rey accepting her last-minute dinner invitation and him bringing dessert over. She feels guilty for lambasting him over JT. He appreciates Sharon reaching out and feels bad about lying to her. Meeting her and Nick was a nice change for him. As Sharon clumsily asks Rey about his investigation of JT, Mariah comes home to blurt out – who are you?
Kyle can and will wipe out Sinead’s debt but understands why she’d be suspicious of a stranger’s offer. He needs a favour that involves a mutual rival. On cue, he spots Billy arriving on the rooftop with Vikki.
After Kyle succeeds in hustling Sinead off to discuss his proposition, Billy and Vikki chat about the kids at the bar. Changing the subject from JT, Vikki hears that Billy and Phyllis are solid – Ashley’s the cause of his stress. He then steers the conversation back to Vikki being on edge lately.
Rey thanks Sharon for the great meal and company – then wonders if Mariah or Sharon know what happened to JT. It’s weird that he came back to GC then vanished. Alarmed that Rey knows so much, Sharon gets a call. What!? There’s an intruder on the property, she yelps at Rey and Mariah.
Seated downstairs in the club’s dining room, Kyle tells Sinnead that he needs Billy Abbott to lose a lot of money – debt that he can’t cover. Get Billy to a game and lose big and your debt will be wiped out. He hands over a fat envelope; a downpayment. Why me? You’ve beaten Billy before. He won’t be able to refuse the challenge. Here’s what I need you to do…..
Up on the rooftop, Vikki won’t pretend that being a single Mom’s easy – but worrying means she hasn’t given up. Do you trust me? Billy would do anything for Vikki. Talk, listen – is there anything you want to talk about? Vikki appreciates that is glad he’s back at the Abbott house so he can have the kids overnight more. No, that’s not why Billy moved. Phyllis finally agreed that living with her adult offspring wasn’t a good idea. After Vikki heads back to work, Sinead appears to entice Billy into a big game – a creme de la creme of gamblers.
