Mattie shows up at the office, and Lily gladly puts her to work.Though Mattie is always looking to help her mother, she first wants to discuss the hearing, and what’s to come next. Lily compliments her daughter’s curiosity, and desire to know the truth. The two discuss the case, and Lily honestly admits that above all, she hopes she is treated fairly by the legal system.
Phyllis tries to brainstorm why Summer thinks her and Jack should be together. Jack owns that he gave her the idea. Phyllis begins to cry, in complete shock. I thought you hated me after what I did to you with Billy? Yes I did, but above all I still loved you. Jack asks her if she loves Billy. She hesitates, and says that though she cares for Jack, she feels very solid with Billy. Jack embarrassingly apologizes for making the situation uncomfortable and tells her he’ll call her when he gets back into town. Before he leaves, Jack says “Billy better do right by you.” Phyllis gazes into the photo of her and Billy on his desk as Jack exits.
Summer and Kyle make a bet to see if she can get Billy in bed.
Jack advises Cane to give Devon time to heal. Cane tells Jack what it was like to sit in the hearing, thinking about the effects this entire accident will have on his family. Do whatever it takes to protect your family, Cane. Cane makes a mysterious phone call, asking for the help of whoever is on the other line.
Summer tells Kyle that she’s already kissed Billy, so getting him in bed shouldn’t be hard. She has until the end of the month, and if she can do it, she can have Kyle’s car. If not, Kyle can have her.
Ashley seeks the help of Jack in taking down Billy, but Jack appears to not be interested. After she proposes a plan for Dark Horse to acquire the lease, and to then cancel the contract with Jabot, Jack is more convinced. More money for Dark Horse, Jabot is saved from making a big mistake – and Ashley is the master mind behind it all, the plan is set in motion.
Cane makes arrangements for him and his family to flee Genoa City to Sydney, Australia.
