Still at CL’s, Nick informs Sharon that his meeting was short because he told Lauren that Dark Horse won’t be acquiring Fenmore’s. Shown a house on Nick’s tablet, Sharon doesn’t want a big, cookie-cutter home. It’s Victor, not us. No, Victor wouldn’t want something like this – it’s 100% eco-friendly. Undeterred, Nick will keep looking until he finds the perfect house.
Kyle and Ashley let Lauren and Phyllis know that if they’re up to something they should compare notes – we might have a common agenda. Suspecting that Billy plans to cut Fenmore’s loose, Lauren wants to beat him to the punch. Ashley warns her not to be too hasty. Jabot’s had 3 CEO’s in the last year; things change. Phyllis is advised not to let her rekindled romance cloud her loyalties. Summer arrives to spot the foursome and call to warn Billy that they’re conspiring against him. Doubting that Phyllis is in on it, Billy’s sending out an email. As their phones go off, Ashley and Kyle find the timing of this unscheduled meeting suspicious)
Lily at her desk, Neil asks Devon to take a step back. You had a car accident recently. Yes, but Devon didn’t hurt anyone and assumes Lily will only get a fine. Neil’s stunned and furious when Lily corrects; Mike said I might go to prison for 20 years. What!? You weren’t driving drunk or recklessly! Neil sputters. Devon disagrees – Lily WAS driving recklessly. As for what’s ‘fair’, his wife and child are gone forever.
When Nikki drops by Sharon’s, they discuss Lily confessing to the police (something they can’t do at this point) The point of Nikki’s visit is to ask Sharon to help her negotiate peace between Nick and Victor (so he can see Christian) No deal – Sharon sees no benefit to her and Nick so ‘no deal’.
Devon returns to the office for a lecture from Neil – his kids must leave their personal issues at the door; it’s business as usual at HWG. All seated around the table, Neil informs that all their data has been moved to the new servers. He’s also decided to respect Devon’s wishes and keep GC Buzz going. They’ll have to find another co-host for Mariah. Devon agrees.
You and Nick wouldn’t benefit from peace in this family? Nikki’s aghast. Faith would be so happy if her Father and Grandfather made amends. Sharon won’t try to change Nick’s mind. Yes, she IS still ‘pissed’, that Victor used her past mental issues against her. Sharon then stuns Nikki with the news that Nick wants to move off the property. Sharon then accuses Nikki of kowtowing to Victor – she’s proud of Nick for not backing down.
Billy’s summoned everyone (Ashley, Kyle, Phyllis and Lauren) to reveal his secret project. This isn’t about Fenmore’s, he says after Lauren goes on a rant. Billy then hits play and unveils Jabot’s latest venture on a wall mounted monitor; Jabotique. Yes, he’s serious in launching a chain of stores and has already signed leases on 30 cities across the US. We’ll be open before the holiday shopping season if all goes as planned. Everyone, especially Ashley, is shocked.
Lily offers to help Devon find another cohost – it’s in my wheelhouse. You’re responsible for Hilary’s death and now angling for her job? Devon wonders how low Lily will sink. That’s not what I meant, she protests.
After watching the promo for Jabotique, Lauren voices her displeasure over direct competition with Fenmore’s. Ashley finds it convenient that Billy planned all this while she was in Berlin. He explains that he needed to do this in secrecy. It’ll cost a fortune; money from my R&D budget, Ashley adds. Kyle also whines about not being involved. When Billy continues his sales pitch, Phyllis thinks he’s onto something. No love at all? Billy persists. Ashley thinks it too much of a risk and will try to get them out of the leases.
