Paul points out the discrepancies in Lily’s statement today and the one she made after the accident. There was a lot going on, Lily blathers on until Mike interrupts. I felt guilty, it was my fault, she tears up when Paul scolds her for not coming forward when she first remembered. After he leaves to make a call to the DA, Cane returns to give Lily the hug she’s desperately in need of, as Mike looks frustrated.
Meeting Summer at CL’s, Kyle doesn’t see the big deal when shown a photo of Phyllis’ numerous calls to Jack. He admitted he still loves her – your Dad and my Mom got busy seconds after she dumped Billy, Summer’s sure she’s cracked the case.
When Jack appears on the rooftop to congratulate Phyllis on reuniting with Billy, Lauren suddenly needs to powder her nose. I was planning to let you know – please be happy for us, Phyllis implores. Seriously? Jack wasn’t happy the first time and certainly isn’t now. Phyllis loves Billy. No matter what he does? Yes, no matter what he does.
Ashley drops paperwork on Billy’s desk – she just found out from accounting that 60% of next quarter’s R&D budget has been reallocated. How is she supposed to create new products without funding? I’m COO. Yes, and I’m CEO. Knowing (yes, from Jack) that Billy’s gambling and why she was sent to Europe, Ashley’s glad she got back in time to put a stop to this. It’s too late – Billy’s investing in and launching a new project he won’t discuss right now. He knows that Ashley and Jack are pissed that he’s running things due to the blood-Abbott clause but the sooner they accept it the better for everyone.
Paul rejoins Mike and the Ashby’s to announce that Chris will review all statements then decide how to proceed. After Paul leaves, Mike throws a hissy fit because Lily admitted (on tape no less!) that she’s responsible for the accident. I couldn’t help it, Lily whimpers. Yes, you could! Mike bellows, then apologizes; he’s just frustrated that Lily doesn’t seem to understand the gravity of her situation. Assuming she’ll just be fined and maybe have her license suspended, Lily’s given a wake-up call by her lawyer – you could be charged with two counts of vehicular homicide. If the Judge wants to make an example of her, Lily could be sentenced to 20 years in the State Pen. Cane and Lily are horrified.
Next: Victor considers calling a truce … Billy reveals a secret project … Nikki pushes Sharon too far.
My Thoughts: Ha ha. Why does Mike look so shocked that Phyllis got back with Billy? And why does he care? And since it doesn’t appear that Lauren made a 9 am appointment with Billy, she shouldn’t expect him to be at the office. If Billy worked 9-5 every day, he’d be the only CEO in town to do so (and that includes the hypocritical Lauren) …. Oh really Ashley? You can’t imagine how Neil and his family are dealing with Hilary’s unexpected death? Maybe the same way you dealt with losing two nieces unexpectedly (Colleen and Delia) along with a few husbands. And how can Neil believe that only a ‘handful’ of people know the truth about the accident when that handful includes a furious widower, three teenagers (one of them also furious) and some crew members from GCs one and only TV gossip station?? … Summer’s really grasping at straws – what makes her think that Phyllis isn’t contacting Jack about work? … 20 years in the State Pen? Oh please. Nobody in GC serves more than a few weeks behind bars regardless of what they’re convicted of.
