Take me to court, Nick challenges – you’re a convicted felon multiple times over who’s lucky not to be behind bars. The Judge might even deem you unfit to be around any of your grandchildren. Think again son, you’re no match for me – you’re not the Saint you think you are, Victor thinks Nick arrogant. Like his Father, Nick will go to any lengths protect his family. You’re no match for me, Victor scoffs; I have the money, the power, the clout. You think you can beat me? Do you!!??
Coming home looking defeated, Traci updates Kyle that Jack’s not coming home. She’s chosen to take his word and believe that this is a good thing. Kyle hopes she’s right (but worries about his Dad not having his job, home or family to fall back on)
Jack invites Devon to take a seat at his table at the club and gives him a pep talk about Fatherhood. Devon’s following Jack’s advice (put the work in from day one) Jack’s decided that his life’s mission is to forge a new path – and you might be the person to help me do that.
Having calmed Hilary down, Mariah asks why she’s crying (assuming they’re real tears) What’s wrong? I’m pregnant, Hilary announces. Uh yeah, Mariah’s known that for weeks. No, Hilary admits she wasn’t then – but is now carrying Devon’s baby.
Me? Arrogant? Nick finds that hilarious. Victor assures it’s not funny – Sharon has a checkered past. You took her to court to have her deemed an unfit parent, he reminds. Leave Sharon out of this – she just started to turn her life around, Nick’s pissed. Victor feels he has no other choice – you’re forcing the issue by cutting me out of Christian’s life. We’ll let a Judge and jury decide whether you, Christian’s Uncle, has more right to him than me, his biological grandfather. Nick’s left to smack a toy off the coffee table.
Next: Jack confides in Sharon …. Hilary gives Devon unexpected news … Arturo comforts Abby.
My Thoughts: Yeah Jack, we get it – you’re going through a tough time. But drinking in the most public of places is a bad look for a man who co-founded Abbott Winters; a charity to assist recovering addicts and alcoholics. If Jack believes the answers to HIS problems can be found in a bottle (of alcohol or pills) why wouldn’t anyone considering seeking help through the Foundation believe the same thing? Neil (who’s suddenly an expert in PR) should be reining Jack in – if not because it’s the right thing to do – AND because Jack’s your friend – then maybe because the Foundation will be exposed as a farce. Maybe Abbott Winters should change its slogan to – ‘drinks for me, but not for thee’ …. It’s been a long time coming – but it looks like an old spoiler will come to fruition; it looks like Nick and Sharon will have to work together to fight Victor for custody of Christian…. If Sharon and Nick had any sense at all, they’d have moved off Victor’s property years ago. Sharon’s ‘checkered past’ shouldn’t be much of a hurdle considering that she’s taking psychology classes and volunteering at a crisis line…. I really don’t look forward to 9 months of Hilary blubbering and acting like she’s the only woman who’s ever conceived a baby…. Charlie’s not ‘on his game’? He’s what? 16? 17? How much game can he have? … Odd that Victor lists off only Nick’s kids as potential future Newman CEO’s – completely skipping over Vikki and her kids (as well as Abby).. Note that Victor referred to Nick as ‘Christian’s Uncle’ and himself as Christian’s biological grandfather (like Nick isn’t Christian’s biological Uncle) … Looks like Charlie’s got himself a young lady with baggage. But no, he doesn’t ‘have’ to hide Shawna.
