Now home, Nick comments that Laurence seemed interested in Sharon. And you made an impression on Jane, Sharon observed. Nick gripes that his Mother tried to play matchmaker – but he’s not interested in dating anyone. Maybe we should call our friends with benefits arrangement off, he surprises Sharon.
Back at the cabin, Jack won’t let Neil break his sobriety. Neil says they’ll either go outside and talk or get high together. Then comes the tough love – you’re a lot better off than most; you have your family. Go, get out of here, Jack orders. OK, Neil agrees – but believe this – I’m your friend, here to help no matter what (he then leaves)
At the bottom of the club’s staircase, Hilary thanks Devon for a great evening and being so excited about the baby. They’re about to kiss when Phyllis appears to suggest they all go out to a club. Alas, Billy reminds that he has a lot on his plate tomorrow. That leaves Devon to decide he’s not ready to call it a night either. Hilary’s ecstatic to be lead out on Devon’s arm.
Alarmed, Sharon thought Nick was enjoying being friends with benefits as much as she is. Nick does; Sharon’s all he can think about. Seeing that guy put his arm around you drove me crazy. We have too much history for casual sex. With a kiss, Sharon agrees that she wants a real relationship too.
Next week: Don’t tell me the two of you are back together again, Nikki scowls. Sharon smiles – that’s exactly what I was going to tell you … Abby’s in front of a rack of clothes – now hurry up, strip down, she tells Arturo – those pleats offend my eyes…. Complete with a tiara on her head, Hilary looks like she’s dressed for a prom (at GC Buzz) Devon moves in for either a dance or a kiss…. Jack chugalugs his drink as he relives Dina saying ‘it’s time for the truth to come out’.
My Thoughts: Shouldn’t Neil call a tow truck to have Jack’s car hauled away before highway patrol finds it and comes to the cabin asking Jack to take a breathalyzer? As a PR man, Neil’s first thought should be protecting Jack (and Jabot) from yet another scandal. It also wouldn’t be very good PR for the Abbott Winters Foundation if one or both of its founders fall off the wagon. Odd that Neil explicitly tells Jack that he’s ‘here’ for him – then immediately walks out the door. Neil even reminds Jack that he literally dragged him out of a dirty motel room and saved his life – then doesn’t even offer Jack a ride back to town (leaving him stuck at the cabin with nothing but depressing thoughts, a full bottle of booze and pills) I’m no expert or sponsor but I’m thinking Neil dropped the ball on this one. He should have taken Jack home, or to his place …. I’m not sure which reconciliation I’m less interested in; Sharon and Nick or Hilary and Devon. I can’t see either lasting very long … Yes, Billy does have a lot on his plate; he’s so eager to create new products that he’s siphoning money from marketing to R&D – BUT – he hasn’t even mentioned replacing Helen; the brilliant chemist who just replaced Ashley.
