When Arturo drops by the ranch on business, Nikki lets him down easy; she appreciates his role in helping her feel equal to Victor. Yes, they can still work together. Pleased that he also helped Nikki feel beautiful and wanted, Arturo gives her a kiss at the front door. Vikki appears with her jaw on the ground.
Introduced to Arturo, Vikki declines shaking his hand. Informed that was just a ‘goodbye kiss’, Vikki has more important things on her mind; JT’s phone. Nikki wonders if Phyllis kept it as blackmail ‘insurance’. What if JT’s somehow alive? Vikki stammers. Phyllis then arrives with good news and bad; it wasn’t JT but the police have his phone – and Nick’s not backing off.
Admitting that she’s distracted by the music (and Devon ‘feelin’ it’) Hilary asks him to use headphones. Never mind – she’s glad her baby will have such a musical Father and will need to learn to work through distractions when the baby comes.
Ashley’s called an emergency board meeting; she has Traci and Lauren’s proxy votes – no word from Phyllis. We must move on and show that Jabot’s rock solid. And that’s why Ashley’s nominating Billy to be CEO.
At CL’s, Sharon scolds Nick – you’re lucky the police didn’t press charges. Nick feels terrible about accosting a homeless guy. What about ME? Vikki tells Nick that he’s making things harder’ reminding her of JT when she’s trying to move on. He hurt you and kill Dad – Nick must get justice for his family. Plus, he’s not the one who bothered Vikki with this – Phyllis did.
Billy’s flattered but didn’t sign up to be the permanent CEO of Jabot. He thinks Ashley the only choice – forget the damn clause. Jack’s obviously sorry he used it against you. Since Traci doesn’t want any position at Jabot, Ashley says it must be Billy. After Phyllis arrives to sing Billy’s praises, Ashley, Abby and Kyle agree and a vote is taken making Billy the reluctant CEO of Jabot. His first act as CEO is to strike the blood-only Abbott clause. Ashley nixes that – we have to follow procedure and have a vote. OK – Billy’s second act of business is to find Jack.
Now alone, Phyllis leads Billy in some relaxing deep breaths and meditation; close your eyes and envision us on a private beach etc. etc. They’re kissing when Ashley comes in with a hard drive containing all the plans she had when she was CEO; a gift because she wants Billy and Jabot to succeed. After Ashley leaves, Phyllis scoffs – you don’t need Ashley’s CEO ‘kit’. Billy just wants Jack found and back in his chair asap.
