Putting the poker beside the fireplace, Billy worries that JT will come back for the kids, especially Reed. Vikki guarantees that won’t happen – he wouldn’t hurt a child. Phyllis agrees (much to Billy’s surprise) And while Billy’s distracted by Paul (who’s brought some items down) Phyllis and Vikki quickly hide the poker and JT’s phone. Paul found a tablet – is this JT’s? It looks like my Dad’s, Vikki allows Paul to take it. There’ll be an officer posted outside until JT’s arrested, Paul says on his way out. Billy and Phyllis get calls at the same time – letting them know that Kyle’s called a board meeting – now.
Neil’s annoyed – how many other decisions has Devon made while he’s been gone. He wants a full report on every expenditure HWG has made in his absence (and exits)
Lauren tells Phyllis to get to Jabot right away for the IPO vote. She expects her to vote in Fenmore’s best interest. Simultaneously, Billy’s on the phone being summoned by Ashley – who wants him to do what’s best for Jabot. We won’t give up without a fight. Hanging up, Billy hopes he can count on Phyllis’ vote. Nothing is more important than saving Jabot, he tells her.
Neil visits Victor to say that he’ll be handling Newman’s PR personally from now on. We’ve known each other a long time. Neil has every faith in his kids but working together …. It’s a different ballgame, Victor says weakly.
Ashley and Abby are at the station trying to convince Paul to release Jack or at least let him sign this proxy. Paul’s sorry – after the Judge signs off on Jack’s release he’s all yours.
Back in Jack’s office, Kyle’s on the phone with the Judge – your biggest contributor, Victor, would like a favour; stall Jack’s release.
Dropping by Vikki’s, Nikki’s alarmed to hear that Paul searched the bedroom. Vikki never thought she’d say ‘Thank God for Phyllis’ – she got the poker and JT’s phone out of here. Nikki managed to get the rug into the garage at the ranch. It’s safe there for now. Safe?! It has JT’s DNA all over it! Vikki wants to ask Dad for help. We agreed not to tell anyone else, Nikki reminds – plus, Victor could use this to blackmail us in the future.
Over coffee, Nikki tells Vikki that Victor knows that JT got violent with her (somehow) He wants to find JT himself to make him pay. JT has paid (though Vikki knows Nikki didn’t mean to kill him) Vikki blames herself – Reed’s Dad’s gone. Phyllis then calls her to update that the poker’s in the lake and JT’s phone is in the dumpster. Phyllis is good at this, remind me never to cross her, Vikki quips. On cue, JT comes home needing to speak to his Dad.
At Jabot, Ashley and Abby might have to resort to Plan B (Jack’s paternity) if they don’t have the votes. Kyle appears to say that he won’t stall the meeting until Jack’s out. As soon as he gets the OK from the board, he’s ready to take Jabot public. You’ve been working on this for a long time – with Victor, Ashley and Abby realize. Billy joins them with Traci’s proxy in hand. We’ll see who has the votes, Kyle seems confident as they file into the office.
Back at Vikki’s, Reed insists on talking to his Dad and blames his Mom for dragging them back home – are you cutting him out of my life for good? Nikki defends Vikki and gently tells Reed that JT’s the one who twice tried to kill Victor. Reed can’t believe it – it must have been an accident. No, Vikki dashes Reed’s hope that his Dad will come back to explain. He’s on the run – it’s possible you won’t hear from him again.
The usual bickering is going on between Hilary and Lily as Devon harl-heartedly referees. When Neil comes back, Devon hands him the report he asked for. Neil wants nothing to do with The Hilary Hour – pack up and go back to the studio, he orders Hilary.
Nikki’s at CL’s in need of Sharon’s help with ‘leftovers’ from their party; something that can’t fall into the wrong hands. The rug is a two-person job. Phyllis stepped up and Nikki figures it’s Sharon’s turn to do the same.
