Paul calls off the search for Nikki – he just got a text that she’s on her way to GCM. An officer comes down with Victor’s phone in an evidence bag. Send it to forensics, Paul orders.
When Vikki blathers on about her Dad accepting their relationship, JT steers the conversation back to their celebration. Vikki’s sorry about the little bruise on his face (assuming she did it) We never have to talk about it again, JT pours more champagne while Vikki goes to put some food together. As JT finds, removes, then hides the camera Victor installed in the front entrance, Vikki races in to say that her Dad’s in the hospital. Hiding her ring as hurries about, she decides it’s not the time to announce their engagement.
Coming through the revolving door, Hilary gets a call updating her on Victor. Back out the door she runs.
Now home, Jack tells Ashley and Abby what little he knows. Offering to drive Abby to GCM, Ashley doesn’t think Jack should disturb their Mother, she’s resting. Once alone, Jack pulls the hard drive out of his pocket and plugs it into his laptop.
At GCM, Nick and a weeping Nikki talk to a doctor – he doesn’t know much but will update them after they do some tests on Victor. Nick reassures his Mom – Dad’s a fighter. Vikki comes to hug her Mom and hear that things are worse than they thought. Who could have done this to him? Nikki just doesn’t know. JT hovers silently.
With GCM’s Intensive Care Unit sign in the background, Hilary updates that Victor’s suffered a serious head injury. Doctor’s are working to relieve the pressure – surgery may be necessary. Mr Newman is in a coma. His life is the American dream; from poverty to building an empire. The family have gathered to pray for his recovery, wondering who did this. Turning her back slightly, Nikki reads a text from Arturo (thinking about you. Need anything?) Hilary has to wonder if one of Victor’s many enemies is responsible. She then interviews Paul; who doesn’t have much to share – it’s too early. The GCPD will find and prosecute whoever did this. JT watches Victor through the window as the colourful monitors blip and bleep.
