At home, Jack’s talking to his ‘favourite’ supplier via video chat when Dina tiptoes over. Traci! she exclaims – why didn’t you tell me you were chatting with your sister? she scolds Jack. By the time he’s managed to send Dina off to watch and take notes on the business news (on TV) the supplier has logged off.
Still at Top of the Tower, Mike asks Kevin to look up info on errors in electronic bank records. That’s not how Victor’s accounts work, Kevin blurts out – then hurriedly claims that he only knows that Victor’s so wealthy that his accounts would be set up differently. Mike thinks his tech-savvy brother could be the solution to their problem.
At CL’s, Scott asks Mariah how Faith’s ride to school went. She didn’t complain about you; Mariah warns Scott to expect mood swings (Faith’s almost a teenager after all) Scott then asks Mariah what Sharon might like for Christmas. Besides a diamond ring? Mariah quips – as Scott looks uncomfortable.
Approaching Vikki and Victor as they celebrate at the club, Ashley needles Vikki about failing to poach Ravi from Jabot. Victor makes a crack that perhaps one day Jabot will be as successful as NE. Citing big changes at Jabot, Ashley plans to beat Newman in the cosmetics division. What is Jack up to now? a bemused Victor would like to hear all about it.
Claiming that he’s consulting with a ‘financial analysis expert’ right now, Mike ends his call to pressure Kevin to help him (by hacking into Victor’s accounts) It’s too dangerous, Kevin balks; I could go to prison – and you’ll lose your license, again. Giving his head a shake, Mike can’t believe he was willing to go there. Forget I asked, he says as he leaves. I wish I could, Kevin’s left to mutter to himself.
Has Sharon hinted that she wants a ring? Does she expect one? Scott questions Mariah. No, but if presented with a ring and a proposal, Mariah’s sure Sharon wouldn’t turn it down. Scott thinks it a bit soon. He’s not ready to propose just yet but won’t rule out taking Mariah ring shopping soon.
Gloria over to schedule video chats, Jack confides that his confused Mother interrupted an important video chat earlier. YOU! Dina comes in to bark accusingly at Gloria. Am I to tolerate this tacky gold-digger in my home on a daily basis?! She’s even more annoyed that Jack’s blabbed about her condition. Gloria’s my assistant, Jack explains patiently. Dina will NOT be pitied and can still hold her own in a verbal catfight. She’s delighted when Gloria calls her a self-righteous, stuck-up old bitch. Now we’re talking, she giggles as Jack shakes his head and sighs.
Mariah’s brought Faith home. Is he here? Faith looks right and left to ensure the coast is clear. Spill it, Mariah wonders what Scott did to make Faith dislike him. Faith seems about to confide when Scott arrives with flowers and shopping bags – he’s making dinner for Sharon tonight. Saying she’ll help after she does homework, Faith hurries upstairs.
Jack’s running Jabot from home? How innovative, Vikki’s oozes sarcasm. Victor asks Ashley how Dina is – it must be hard on the family. He knows that Jack’s all about himself. Ashley laughs – so are you. Yes, but Victor ‘built’ his business while Jack ‘inherited’ his. Your brother, as always, has taken on too much, he warns Ashley.
Ready to call it a day, Gloria’s impressed by what she and Jack accomplished. Dina comments that in her day a ‘secretary’ could have done more while filing her nails. In YOUR day, you were powdering your wig, Gloria cracks back. Tell ‘the help’ she’s done for the day, Dina has the last word. Shown to the door, Gloria wishes Jack luck with the rest of his day. Now alone, Dina updates Jack on the business news (which was full of good news about Victor/NE – and Chancellor just acquired a new skin care manufacturer) Jack scowls as he reads on his tablet – Chancellor could make a fortune with this. However, Jabot’s holding its own, Jack has a lot on his plate and Ashley made some unfortunate decisions. John wouldn’t make excuses, he always said you were a disappointment, Dina’s verbal attack leaves Jack looking deeply wounded.
