Devon’s at GC Buzz to update Mariah that before they jet off to Chicago they’re going for dinner with Noah and Tessa. He’s surprised when Mariah doesn’t seem thrilled about celebrating all the good things in Tessa’s life – you’re BFF is dating your brother. No, it doesn’t get any better than that, Mariah forces a smile.
Mike continues to try to calm a furious Jack down. He wasn’t able to get Dina to sign the new power of attorney – she’s worth more to Graham dead than alive. Mike thinks it a leap to call Graham a killer. He’s too shrewd to think he’d get away with it. Dina will be back home meddling up a storm in no time, Mike assures his friend (then leaves when Phyllis arrives to say she just learned something that can help in their battle with BnS)
Vikki’s certain she’ll be in charge of the interview with Hilary. Lily shows her a quote from a manufacturer – she thinks the rush job is too costly. While Vikki wants to proceed, Billy thinks Lily has a point. After Lily leaves, Vikki wonders if Billy feels guilty about Phyllis. No, Billy just wants to slow things down a bit. Vikki won’t play it safe and lose this opportunity to beat Jabot out of the gate.
At Underground, Tessa chooses a bottle of wine before Noah leads her to the dancefloor for a whirl. As they kiss, Devon arrives with Mariah. Hey, I’m so glad you came, Tessa greets her friend. Why? Mariah seems genuinely baffled.
Mariah claims she meant that she wondered why they’re celebrating here at Underground instead of at Tessa and Noah’s place. The boys summon the girls over to a booth for wine. Discussing Devon and Mariah’s trip to Chicago, they all toast to ‘living the dream’.
Phyllis repeats herself – Vikki’s doing an interview on Hilary’s show – they’re pouring all the money Neil lent them into their men’s line because they think Jabot’s scaling back on theirs. Too distracted by the situation with his Mother, Jack gives Phyllis carte blanche. They can’t see this coming, he warns (assuming that Phyllis wants to get back at Billy and Vikki)
To hell with the haters, Juliet thinks Cane deserves the job Jill gave him – maybe it’ll become permanent. Cane loves being back in the corporate world and hasn’t been this optimistic in a while. He then stuns Juliet with the news that her job’s been filled by Lily. Perfect, Juliet smirks.
Almost knocking Lily over with her 2 lb weights, Hilary says she’s ‘in the zone’. Did you see my commercial last night? she taunts. Lily’s proud of her work at BnS and hopes Hilary sticks to her word to make Vikki look good on her show. Or what? Hilary challenges.
At the bar ordering nachos, Tessa lists Noah’s good qualities, he deserves to be happy – don’t you want that? Yes, but Mariah can’t help wondering …. why they’re wasting time talking instead of eating nachos. At the booth, Devon tells Noah that he doesn’t think he and Mariah are ready to live together. Mariah comes back for a kiss – because Devon’s ‘crazy’ about her. She eyes Tessa (whose turn it is to look uncomfortable)
Phyllis shows up at Billy’s table to take his phone away (and show off some leg) How did I get so lucky? he wonders. You’ve either been very good or very bad, Phyllis says seductively.
Who’s Hilary supposed to be shaking in her designer sneakers over? Lily lists all she’s done to Vikki. She’s not someone you want to piss off. Ask Cane how that goes.
As Cane ends a business call, Vikki approaches him to hope he’s not coming after BnS (and teaming up with Hawkman again to do so) She then cuts off his reply by throwing a glass of water in his face.
You have nerve and no class, Vikki blasts Cane – who reminds that she slept with a prospective business partner (and basically calls her a self-righteous hypocrite) When Vikki calls Cane a ‘petty’ snake, Juliet comes over to defend him – ‘petty’ is firing someone and blackballing them. Seems you’re doing OK on the money you extorted from me, Vikki sneers. She feels sorry for this baby having you two as parents. After Vikki marches out, Juliet winces and sits. You OK? Cane’s concerned.
Being bad can be so much fun, Phyllis runs her bare foot up Billy’s leg – the risk of being caught is a turn on. It’s who we are. Billy knows what Phyllis is doing right now…
Devon ends a call with Herv West to rejoin the group and announce that Tessa’s got some bookings coming up. Hearing Herv’s now the HWG’s official booking manager, Tessa claims she’s OK with it if Devon trusts him. When the boys go to get drinks, Tessa raves about how well Noah treats her. She was starting to think all men were bad. Is that why you thought you might not want to be with a man? Mariah’s confused – what’s going on with us?
