In Dina’s suite, Jack’s sorry to hear she didn’t sleep well. Knowing he’s spoken to Ashley and that he’s there to lecture her too, Dina’s not up to it. We have to get a few things straight, Jack says.
Neil’s been summoned to Jack’s office by Ashley. Were you able to find it? she asks. Yes, I’ve got it right there (he pulls out a flashdrive)
Jack’s concerned about Graham having access to Jabot’s data. You don’t need anyone’s help doing a marketing report. A Jabot employee shouldn’t be showing info to outsiders. If Dina wants to continue working at Jabot, Graham’s to have no part in it, Jack’s clear.
Neil will do anything for Ashley – but why did she want Graham’s personnel file from Mergeron? He’s stunned to hear that Dina’s working at the family company. Jack hired her after Ashley suggested it might help with Dina’s depression. She showed Graham a confidential report and didn’t appreciate being scolded by her daughter. Ashley and Neil then discuss BnS being grateful for the loan – Jack not so much. Healthy competition is good for all, Neil says. Ashley believes in fighting fair – Jack not so much.
Phyllis has moved on to coffee with Lauren – who’s brought Phyllis more in-depth sales numbers; a breakdown of store and online purchases. Let’s not turn this meeting into a bitch-fest about Vikki, Lauren requests. BnS exceeded projections. Oh goody, Phyllis is sarcastic. But wait – that doesn’t make sense, she frowns at the report.
Billy and Vikki list all the great stuff at Walnut Grove’s kindergarten. Maybe WE should go. No! Johnny’s now eager. Mission accomplished, Reed takes a photo of Johnny with his proud parents, all smiling.
Cane joins Neil at the park cafe to say that he’s working hard to regain his family’s trust. He’s giving Lily space and supports her working at BnS. How are things with the kids? Neil asks. Yes, Cane’s spending time with them. Neil reminds that another woman’s having his baby. Let’s not pretend all is forgiven and things can go back to the way they were.
Reed calls Mattie to invite her to his house (since no one’s home) It’ll just be review today, he pressures.
Flashing back to her and Jack discussing Graham and Dina, Ashley plugs Neil’s flashdrive into her laptop. Ravi startles her – you seem captivated. This is Graham’s personnel file at Mergeron, she confides. Seems he applied for different positions starting in 2012. Once hired he was quickly promoted to VP of corporate strategy; Dina’s right hand. Actor to executive to heir. Why did he keep applying after being rejected? Why was he finally hired in 2016? Ashley wonders. Dina won’t answer her questions but she does know someone who can shed light on this.
Still in Dina’s suite, Jack grills her about Graham (and his sudden trip to Paris) He’s been neglecting his personal matters to be at my side, Dina’s sure he’s not after her money – he’s my friend. Jack admits that Grahm was there when they were not. But you’ve been holding something back. What has this man done to deserve your undying loyalty? Alright – I’ll tell you, Dina caves.
You’ve pulled some twisted stuff on Devon and Hilary, Cane reminds. Yes, but there was no baby involved. After Neil leaves, Hilary appears to applaud and tell Cane that she’s the only one on his side right now – what’s on the agenda in winning back your wife and kids? Updated, Hilary seems surprised that Mattie’s not angry with her Father. Why is that? Cane wonders.
At Reed’s, Mattie updates that Hilary saw them kissing and knows we aren’t supposed to see each other. She seemed sympathetic and said our secret’s safe with her. I think we can trust her. It doesn’t seem like she told my Dad. Good, Reed’s relieved – our families would flip if they knew.
