Charlie will ‘stay out of it’ as long as Reed treats Mattie right – otherwise, he’ll beat his pretty face. He thinks I’m pretty, Reed jokes. Going for refills, Charlie recognizes and chats with Juliet. Mattie and Reed then march over to say that she’s the woman who played Reed’s Mom. And the woman Dad got pregnant.
Eyeballed by the trio of kids, Juliet’s sorry she’s meeting the ‘wonder twins’ under these circumstances. No, she didn’t know who Charlie was the other day. Yes, she’s sorry what this has done to the Ashby family (and hurries out)
Phyllis joins Vikki and Billy to wonder what they’re celebrating – and take Billy home. Vikki declines a ride – enjoy the rest of the evening, she says, then is left to stand in the middle of the dining room looking lonely.
Scott’s idea is to chronicle the search for Crystal; posting a weekly serial on his Newman digital media company. Yes, he’d change names and anything that would compromise Paul’s investigation. Sharon, Paul and Scott are all troubled by these sex rings targeting and operating in the suburbs. Lauren arrives with hugs and a mild scolding to Scott for not being home much. She forces some kind words for Sharon before she and Paul leave her and Scott kissing on the patio.
Lily’s angrier about Canes’ lies than him taking the kids’ tuition money. I was so scared of losing my family, Cane just wanted to fix everything. You make everything worse, Lily cries. Cane will never lie again – just give me a chance to prove it, he begs.
Family is everything to me, Lily’s tried to be strong. Pack your bags and go. Just get out! she barks at Cane and marches out of the room.
Back on the rooftop, Zack and Abby chat about the Newman drama at the benefit. Yes, she and Victor have a good relationship. Zack trusts Abby’s word over The Hilary Hour. There’s not much to tell about his boring family. Abby’s questions are interrupted when Zack’s software developer calls with a crisis. Sending him off with a quick kiss, Abby then approaches Vikki – are you alright? I dunno, Vikki seems adrift.
Seated inside, Paul teases Lauren for disapproving of Scott’s new girlfriend. I’m not doing a Mary Williams! Lauren just wishes her son would find someone with more ambition and less baggage. She’s running CL’s, going to school – as her former Father in law, Paul’s actually proud of Sharon. Cut her some slack – you might like the person she’s becoming.
When Scott blathers on excitedly about his ‘compelling’ project, Sharon questions his motives – this is about Crystal, not winning awards for your digital media business. If you don’t know that, we have a problem.
Scott’s sorry if he seemed insensitive but if he can help these women get justice and help, that’s all the accolades he needs. After Paul comes over to say his farewells and exit, Sharon gives Lauren a big bag of treats.
