Who the hell does Jack think he is – telling Victor how to handle his wife? Nikki played for him earlier – she’s doing fine. He chuckles – surely Jack doesn’t think Nikki would rather be with him. Jack and Nikki will always be close – can Victor say the same about his marriage? Stay away from my wife, Victor warns in parting.
No, really – Gloria wasn’t a great Mother – she was absent and chose to ignore her husband’s abuse. She understands adult children hanging on to deep seeded resentment. She feels it with her sons. Putting his hand over Gloria’s, Graham could use a friend. You’ve got one, she puts her hand over his.
Sharon assures Nick that she won’t share what Nick’s told her (then changes the subject to Chelsea and him getting serious) You deserve to be happy – don’t let this thing with Victor rob you of that. It’s none of my business though. Nick decides that Sharon’s right – it’s time to tell Chelsea everything.
It won’t be on the market long, Dina barks into her phone and hangs up as Jack arrives at the club (seems Neil’s not taking her recommendation on a company for sale) Jack knows that Neil and Devon want to help companies run by women and minorities. They then discuss how John would feel about where his kids have taken Jabot.
John would have been proud, Dina says as she holds Jack’s hands – she knew he’d grow out of his playboy phase and become a strong businessman. Then why take up with strangers (like Graham) instead of reaching out to me? After a mini hissy fit, Dina’s happy to accept Jack’s invitation to Nikki’s concert – without Graham. Joining them, Graham’s surprisingly cool with it. When a bubbly Gloria comes over to join the ‘party’, Jack can’t conceal his delight.
Victor welcomes Chelsea into his office. Hearing that she’s considering switching from designing haute couture to more inexpensive clothing, he doesn’t approve of her devaluing her brand. Declared a good businesswoman and a good partner for Nick, Chelsea beams.
As Mariah and Tessa boo and throw popcorn at the TV (and whatever rom-com they’re watching) Sharon comes home to note the pricey champagne. I’m dating a millionaire, Mariah laughs – and someone very important to me asked Tessa to make a commitment. Sharon’s relieved to see that it’s a recording contract and forces a smile as Mariah kissy noises and jokes about Tessa and Noah.
At the park, Hilary accosts Cane to ask how the deposition went – we were family – I’m concerned. Still panting from his run, Cane’s not buying it.
Devon’s at Lily’s to hear all about why Juliet was fired – then sued BnS. Cane was pretty drunk that night, he points out. Devon knows Cane didn’t sexually harass anyone – but could he have had sex with Juliet that night?
Ease off – Hilary’s not the one who got drunk and had sex with Juliet – Cane should man up. You’re the reason Juliet filed this suit and is taking it to trial. Trial? Hilary guesses correctly that he didn’t fess up to sleeping with Juliet. Stay out of this, Cane warns – he won’t let Hilary destroy Lily or his family.
Lily relays telling the twins about the lawsuit – Cane makes me laugh, feel loved – he’d never deliberately hurt me. Plus, he forgave my mistake. No, Lily tells Devon that she doesn’t think Cane slept with Juliet.
Jack joins Gloria at the bar to pump her for dirt on Graham. When Gloria claims that Graham’s an interesting man who looks great in a towel and that he genuinely cares for Dina, Jack’s annoyed – he’s fooled the both of you.
