Over coffee, Cane tells Lily that her and the kids’ happiness is all that matters to him. Devon’s accident has taught him to appreciate each day. Lily now goes on about how much she misses modelling – and her Mom. Both then get a text from Jill – they’re needed at the office NOW.

The Ashby’s are both stunned to be greeted with an ad display and a job offer; Lily’s to be the face of Brash n Sassy. Alone with Jill, Cane claims to support Lily’s decision 100% (but it looks more like 12%) Hannah calls Vikki to say she must leave for a family emergency. Of course Reed will babysit (and wastes no time inviting his friend Zoey over)

It was always about money, power, and fame; Devon doesn’t think it’ll take Hilary long to pack – you did say you don’t want anything, right? After he walks out, Hilary sits to sob alone.

Reed assures Zoey that it’s cool she’s there – his Mom’s at work and the kids are upstairs. After an awkward few minutes of silence on the sofa the kissing begins.

Contract signed, Lily comes back giggling – it’s official, let’s celebrate. Jill tells the Ashby’s to go ahead and enjoy themselves. So, how will we celebrate? Lily’s left to ask Cane – drinks? dancing? a suite for the night? She can tell by his indifference that Cane’s not happy about her modelling.

Hey neighbour, Chelsea comes over to ask Hilary why she’s moving out. The wounds are too deep – the scars are permanent, Hilary knows this won’t be ‘fixed’.

Jill finds Devon drowning his sorrows at the club’s bar. Hilary’s packing and will be gone by the time he goes home. Katherine would be disappointed that I spent so much money trying to keep her. I’m reckless and irresponsible; wrecking a car the same night I bought it. Kay would understand – Jill assures Devon that ‘that old fossil’ made plenty of mistakes of her own.

Jill continues to give Devon a pep talk – most of Katherine’s mistakes were due to this (she picks up his drink) Flashing back to Kay deciding to get sober, Jill reminds Devon that he shares Kay’s blood – you’re a fighter, a survivor. Kay measured a person by how they dealt with adversity.
