On the patio, Reed gets an earbud yanked out for a second time today. He whines to Billy about his Mom treating him like the person she wants him to be (a kid) Billy asks Reed to cut her some slack – this is new for everybody; give it a chance.
Vikki comes down to say her kids are upstairs covered in glitter and glue (hopefully supervised by the nanny) She tells Nikki that Reed’s with Billy right now. Knowing she tortured HER parents, Vikki feels the universe is paying her back. Nikki suggests she let Billy help – unless she’s worried about falling into old habits. Vikki makes it clear that there’s no future for her and Billy.
Phyllis is relieved to hear that Phyllis confided in Mike. There’s light at the end of this tunnel.
When Gloria comes home, Mike suggests a suite at the club for the night. He needs to discuss business after Lauren’s meeting. Is that about Fenmores? Yes, it is, Mike confirms.
Coming home with Billy, Reed asks if he can stay for dinner. Billy was going to suggest a board game; four’s a perfect number. Nikki loves the idea. Vikki forces a smile.
After Phyllis has prepped Lauren for the meeting, she assures that Billy’s where he’s meant to be – and Phyllis is where she wants to be. Let’s do this.
Ashley updates Jack that Phyllis was there for files – she mentioned that Lauren wouldn’t let Gloria anywhere near Fenmores. Say what you want about Gloria but she’ll pull out all the stops to get what she wants. You can’t forget who you’re dealing with (Ash reminds that he once had Glo’s belongings delivered to Mike’s in garbage bags)
Mike’s surprised to hear that Lauren confided her business troubles to Gloria. Yes, she found an investor. Then why do you look miserable? Mike admits he’s not pleased that Lauren didn’t come to him sooner. She’s proud and independent – respect her for that, Gloria scolds – Lauren needs her family; all of us.
