Jack thanks Pam for setting everything up. When Phyllis arrives on the rooftop, he relays his visit with Billy – he’s looking to find the kind of love and trust you and I have. Told about the weekend getaway to Barbados, Phyllis cuts off Jack’s blathering – I can’t.
Adam tells Chelsea not to let Meredith get to her. She’s not the one putting doubts in Chelsea’s mind – it’s obvious Adam’s hiding something. Adam’s defending his life and fighting for his family. He won’t apologize for stooping to Victor’s level. Trust me on this one – I’m trying to protect you. Walking to the patio to call Mike, Adam leaves Chelsea to stew.
Victor needs it to look as if the old lady was poisoned. Here’s contact information and an overseas bank account to fund it. I hope you’ll help bring my son Adam to justice. The mystery woman takes the paper. I know you’re the right person to do the job, Victor concludes.
Phyllis loves the idea of a getaway but she’s booked a business trip – a group from Amsterdam wants to meet her at a tech conference in Montreal. No, Natalie can’t go – she’s working on Passkey. Letting Phyllis off the hook easily, Jack steps away to cancel their plans. That gives Phyllis time to call Billy (home drinking as usual) Phyllis updates that she’ll be going out of town. Let’s spend the weekend together.

Next: Dylan shows up at the penthouse to tell the Newmans that he’s following up on a lead that could prove that Adam was framed … Luca sidles up to Vikki – What the hell are you doing with that guy? I think he tried to bring down our company. OUR company? Who the hell do you think you are? Vikki snarls … There’s been an accident! It’s awful. You have to call 911 right now! Mariah runs into the house to shout at Sharon.
My Thoughts: How gross is it that Jack was sitting in the exact same spot that his wife just had sex with his brother? Jack is going to be hurt by the betrayal, but he’s going to be furious at being made a fool of… They aren’t protecting him from pain, they’re protecting themselves from Jack’s justifiable fury. Pretty cowardly for a risk-taking gambler and a pitbull like Phyllis. I hope the nosey Luca finds out and blackmails them. I wonder where Phyllis hid her car …. Who is Victor’s mystery woman? In second viewing, it doesn’t appear to be Meredith (hands are too shaky) And whoever it is has it in for Adam as well. Could it be our favourite reoccurring psychopath Patty Williams? If so, I hope she’s being manipulated by Ian (she had a soft spot for him after the fire at Newman Towers) It’d be nice to see Victor one-upped yet again .. I’m still wondering how Adam managed to arrange for Ian to be transferred to minimum security? He hasn’t talked to the warden or the DA … Since Paul was ‘absolutely certain that Victor had paid James off to fudge the toxicology reports’, why would we take ANY notice that ‘his gut’ now tells him that Adam didn’t kill that ‘old woman who was on her way out anyway’. What? Perhaps Constance wasn’t ‘on her way out’. Perhaps she’d have lived another 10-20 years. She was only 4 years older than Victor (and he’s still wooing women and beating fellow inmates up) … Victor just keeps getting worse and worse. There’s nowhere for this character to go. No one’s going to buy the tears come Christmas time when he blames it all on being a poor orphan. He can’t even pass these crimes off as protecting his family – it’s pure and simple revenge…. Meredith’s bias should be obvious to the jury and the William’s – it’s open to interpretation that Victor’s family was ‘callous’ in ‘turning their backs’ on him. And Meredith may say that Ian goaded Victor into a fight – yet the warden (rightfully) punished Victor for assaulting a fellow inmate. There’s probably no rule against ‘goading’. But good luck not sounding like a disciple of cult-Victor on the stand Dr Gates!
