Now in the cafeteria, Ian taunts Victor – Dr Gates has the healing touch – you must go in there so often for her healing touch. She won’t set you free. No worries, Ian will send Victor cards from Tahiti for the next ten long years.
Yes, Denise knows the man Dylan’s showing her a photo of; Victor Newman. Have you met him in person? Paul asks. No, and Allan doesn’t know him either (he’d have bragged if he did) Now he’s …. Can I go, please?
Chelsea’s sure they’ll be able to pop the cork on the champagne soon. Answering his phone, Mike hopes Paul’s calling with good news. Hanging up, he updates the Newman’s – the lab tech won’t be testifying. He’s dead, Adam guesses. How could you possibly know that? Mike wonders.
Adam’s not a psychic – this is just the way his luck goes. Mike thinks the lab tech taking his own life is enough to indicate guilt (and therefore reasonable doubt) He’ll have Paul tell Chris that they should drop the charges against Adam. Go do that, Chelsea shows Mike out – then tells Adam that they still have Ian (who’s alive, well and ready to talk)
Victor pauses his reading to give Ian some advice – have the good doctor treat you for delusions. You’re not getting paroled. Ian’s freedom will come from the Newman family. I’m the star defense witness. I’ll tell the court that you confessed to framing Adam, he and I will go free and you’ll have more years tacked onto your sentence. Victor leaps out of his seat to pummel Ian.
Phyllis has a proposition for Luca. Not cash – she’ll appeal to his intellect and survival instinct. Think about what I’m capable of. I sent Victor to prison. Imagine what I could do to a delicate flower like you. Leave town or you won’t see it coming.
Vikki went to ask Dad if he sabotaged the oil rig. He indignantly denied it. No, Travis is not on Dad’s payroll. Nick then tells Vikki that Luca, your new buddy, was the one who told him where to find her.
Separated by guards, Ian spouts off about enjoying his civic duty, as he’s taken to the infirmary. The warden then chides Victor for letting ‘that guy’ get under his skin. Victor wants the warden to listen – there’s a conspiracy against me.
Still in the suite, Dylan wonders if it was really suicide. Paul saw the footage – no one came in and out until Denise arrives and called 911. Dylan gets a call from his source in DC – talk to me. What!? Are you sure? Hanging up, he tells Paul that the money was tracked – we have a name.
At the office, Vikki talks to Victor’s portrait – you have to be enjoying this. What happened Dad? When did you become so cruel? I only wanted your love and respect. Until now, I thought you wanted mine too. When Luca arrives, Vikki thanks him for his quick thinking regarding the oil leak. Then – why did you have me followed? Has Nick bee right about you all along?
Phyllis joins Nick at the club’s bar. They commiserate over Summer’s bad taste in men. Phyllis won’t let the slick and charming Luca take advantage of Summer. I want him gone while she’s in Georgia. Nick has no issue with her arranging Summer’s trip. In fact, he wishes he thought of it.

Making a humourous toast to parenthood, Phyllis remembers Christian and apologizes. Nick’s OK – he has Summer, Noah and Faith. But yes, seeing Sully makes him wonder how Christain would be. He enjoys being around his nephew. Phyllis thinks Nick strong. As for Luca, we do the one thing he doesn’t see coming – let him win.
Luca had Vikki followed because he wanted to know why she was making rookie mistakes. No blackmail involved. He’s protected Vikki and Newman. You violated my privacy; Vikki won’t give Luca points for having her photographed dancing and not showing the world. No one cares. Someone might, Luca shows Vikki the online photo of Travis – your friend is a walking lie.
Back at the bar, Travis looks at the article on his phone (in which Vikki donated 5 million to the foundation)
Chelsea wants to go back up to bed to pick up where they left off. Give Mike time – trust him. Adam frets – we’re only speculating that Victor’s behind this. He didn’t leave any loose ends (Adam knows this because he’s like his Father, always two steps ahead)
You’re nothing like Victor, Chelsea thinks Adam generous, kind and fantastic. Adam’s committed lots of crime – it’s only luck that he’s not in prison now. Chelsea gives him a pep talk – we have each other and she’ll make sure Adam remains free. I love you, Adam replies.
Joining Dylan and Paul in the suite, Mike thinks it obvious that James Allan’s suicide is a non-verbal confession that he tainted autopsy results for Victor. Drop the charges against my client. Trace Allan’s money. We have – the funds didn’t come from Victor. It’s someone else entirely.
As Dr Gates dabs at his bloody face, Ian mocks the way she’s being played by Victor. You’re the only one who understands him, the only one he trusts. That man’s a cold-blooded monster who framed his son for murder. That ‘bad man’ beat me up because I’m exposing him. Deep down, I think you know that.
