Covering her increasing distress, Sharon’s updated that Sage was on her phone when she crashed; leaving what must have been an important voicemail. It wasn’t for Nick, it was for Adam. Sharon’s head bobbles and swivels even more upon hearing that Dylan didn’t hear the message before Adam deleted it. Paul wonders why Sharon’s so sure Sage was calling Nick – did she mention him when she was here? No! As Sharon escapes upstairs, Dylan asks Paul why he’s being so hard on her.

Sharon eavesdrops as Paul tells Dylan that he’s just trying to establish a timeline. Dylan lays it all out – the timeline is pretty clear. Paul’s curious as to why Sharon didn’t mention Sage being at her place when questioned at the scene. Sharon was in shock – we may never know what was going through Sage’s mind. Paul wants to give Nick some answers. Nothing Sharon can say will ease Nick’s grief, Dylan decides (Sharon listens, knowing full well there is)

The tow truck driver asks Nick if he’s OK – you should get that hand checked out. Without speaking, Nick ambles off (ignoring the guy’s offer to give him a lift)

Adam vents to Chelsea some more – I lied to that woman after she saved my life. She died knowing I’m a liar. I did exactly what my Father would have done.

Back in the visiting room, Victor knows Jack didn’t come to tell him about Sage – he’s there to blame him for his life falling apart. Go look for the problem at home. The problem is with the man who brought Marco Annacelli to town and takes no responsibility for setting a match to our lives. Victor blames Billy and Phyllis. They’re your problem, not me. Watch your back – that’s where those you think love you will stick the knife.

Still at the bar, Phyllis again tries to push Billy towards Vikki – she needs a shoulder to cry on. Billy thinks this all about Phyllis. If there’s no hope for me and Vikki, there’s none for you and Jack. Sage and Nick don’t have a chance, Phyllis reminds – Vikki still loves you. OK, Billy will go back into the lions den – but take your own advice – fix YOUR relationship before it’s too late, he leaves Phyllis to think.

Travis only hears country western sob stories; heartache, jail-time and car wrecks. My life’s a country song, Vikki laughs, then mentions her Dad – their relationship is love/hate. You’ll be OK, Travis can tell by the strength in her eyes. That guy on the other hand (Billy at the end of the bar)- you can see the emptiness – slummin’ to make himself feel a bigger man. Travis wouldn’t trade place – would you?

Nick lashes out at the portrait of Victor at the office. Mom’s drinking, Billy and Vikki are over, Abby lost her baby – I’ve lost everything. Billy gets a hostile welcome. Billy sympathizes – he knows the feeling of standing on the side of the road, completely helpless.

Jack joins Phyllis to report his visit to Victor (who says trouble will come from close to home, not him) Phyllis did a good deed – she convinced Billy to give it another shot with Vikki. He can undo the damage he’s caused – and so can Phyllis. Sage’s death has made her reassess what she wants. What DO you want? Jack wonders.

Adam waltzes in knowing Victor will make time for one more visitor – have a seat. Victor’s sorry about Sage. Ruins your plan, Adam gloats – Nick can’t take over NE, he’s just suffered a tremendous loss. So have you, Victor replies.

Save your sympathy for Nick. Adam lost a friend – Nick lost his child, then his wife. Nick didn’t lose a child, Victor reminds – you lied to save your marriage. Victor understands that. Adam then accuses Victor of telling Sage (and relays the message she left before crashing her car) She must have found out I switched the paternity results. And YOU’RE the only one who could have told her.

Phyllis wants things the way they were – don’t let Victor come between us as he has Vikki and Billy. You defended HIM – I was the bad guy, Jack reminds. Victor’s gotten under his skin (with his doom and gloom talk) If Sage’s death can bring Vikki and Billy to their senses, Phyllis thinks anything possible.
