Victor’s sorry this has been a shock to Noah – but he’s always concerned with the family’s security. Telling everyone will cause more damage. This lie protects the both of YOU, Noah grumbles. Jack insists they stay quite to stay safe. Knock knock – Noah hopes it’s Summer – so they can look her in the eye and explain why her husband’s really dead. It’s not Summer, Victor says – it’s the authorities – to arrest your ass! (Jack)
Again at the boathouse, Neil asks Hilary to please open her eyes – then this nightmare will be over. Gwen calls – how’d your meeting go? Productive, Neil hurries off the phone. Hanging up, Gwen plops down beside Lily – Neil’s lying – he’s not in New York.
Adam denies he’s afraid of Victor (whom he’ll bring down without Ian’s help) Shut Paragon down right now. Impossible – it’s become it’s own beast. Ian couldn’t stop it if he wanted to (which he doesn’t) It’ll be one helluva show, he laughs.
At the station, Jack’s surprised to see Billy, Abby and Vikki in handcuffs too. It’s all a misunderstanding. Paul comes out (with Dylan and Mike) Victor tipped off the feds – but they wouldn’t have made arrests if they couldn’t link the virus to Jabot. As all chatter, Phyllis arrives (with Summer) Get these handcuffs off my husband – he’s not behind Paragon – it’s Ian Ward (all are stunned)
As Gwen’s tattling all to Lily, Devon bursts into the scene – Hilary’s alive – someone flew her to GC – she’s close bye! What day was she flown back? Gwen wonders. The same day she disappeared, Devon answers – why? You know something?
Summer’s very sure it was Ian. Jack’s livid. Phyllis explains how ‘Fred’ befriended her – the same night Jack and Billy were hauled in for that Paragon virus. Since Paul can’t release Billy on Summer’s info, Mike will be filing a lot of briefs (he’s now representing Jack and Billy) Hang onto your briefs – Paul heads off to check on whether Ian’s in prison. Frustrated that he’s in handcuffs, Jack knows there’s only one person who can bring all this to an end.
Noah’s not letting Victor off the hook. You’re the reason Jack’s in a cell right now. The Abbott’s brought this upon themselves. Profit and loss comes above human lives? Noah wants to know the story – Harding confessed to killing Courtney – was he working with Marco?? Victor wishes Noah didn’t know all this – it puts him in danger – Marco’s a bad dude. He’s also sorry about what happened to Austin and Summer – but he can’t undo it. Victor regrets it deeply. Near tears, Noah leaves without further word.
Ian’s hacker can’t stop the virus – it’s indestructible. Adam will go get his laptop and we’ll figure this out. As Adam steps into the penthouse, Ian hits him over the head – I told you I dThe
With a few words of support, Gwen leaves Devon to assure Lily that he WILL find Hilary.
The station’s full of folks grumbling about Ian Ward; convinced he’s the hacker. Paul returns to say Ian’s supposedly being treated in a prison hospital for an infection. He has no computer access. All are puzzled.
Summer joins Noah at the GCAC bar – Ian escaped prison to hurt our Grandpa. Grandpa doesn’t give a damn about who he hurts, Noah’s reply surprises Summer.
Still in his office, Victor’s on the phone – Jack and the Abbott’s have been arrested – I’ll be damned – the Abbott’s are paying for their crimes. Phyllis marches in (infuriating Victor) I have information on Paragon you need to hear. Ian Ward is behind the Paragon Project. He’s in prison. No, Summer saw him in the park. He’s behind the virus – not the Abbott’s, not Jack. Is this true? Yes, and after what he did to my daughter, however you want to handle him works for me.
The police have the resources to search for you door to door – they know you’re in GC, Neil worries – but they can’t find you until you wake up. There’s too much to misinterpret. I have to make a move – God help us if it’s the wrong one.
Gwen meets her sister in the park to ask what meds went missing when her badge was lost. Random supplies – TPM – IV nutrition; you can’t get high off it. If Neil stole that, it was for nothing.
Back in Victor’s office, Phyllis assures that Summer’s sure it was Ian she saw. Victor thinks Ian may be working with the Abbott’s. You owe me – let Jack go, she insists.
Adam awakens with a sore head to find the hallway empty – Ian’s gone. He leaves him a message – you’ve got a choice – put an end to this virus or look over your shoulder for the rest of your life. I’ll find you.
