Adam and Chelsea pull apart – it was exhausting not telling her the truth. He worried she might go to the police (because of his involvement in Delia’s death) Chelsea shouts through her tears; you saw how much I cried! How much I missed you! You let me think you were gone!! Adam’s sorry – it was a lie to protect her. But then the lies snowballed. But she knows the truth – and we’re together, that’s all that matters. No – everything’s a lie, Chelsea’s love for Adam died with Delia. But I risked everything to come back to you, Adam whines (but can’t deny that he might never have told her the truth) He wanted to start over. He knows they love one another – we’re forever. There’s no such think as forever (but Chelsea doesn’t look convinced)
Aside, Paul praises Dylan on his good work; getting Avery to put the gun down; maybe he should train his guys. Dylan laughs at the thought of working for the PD; what could go wrong? Also still in the suite, Avery tells Mike that she can probably apologize to Joe and get him to drop the charges. Yes, apologize to the greasy lummox and we’ll walk out of here. My client would like to say something to you, he tells Joe, then is alarmed when Avery says she’s very sorry; sorry I met you – sorry you came to GC. Sorry I shot the ceiling and not your face!
Adam crouches before Chelsea – you said you wanted your husband back. You got your wish. This is our second chance. As being Mr and Mrs Gabriel Bingham? You adopt Connor? I smile and say nothing? Yes, we’ll tell Connor when he’s older. Chelsea can’t handle it. You want me to rot in prison? For Connor to lose his Father again!? Is that what you want?
Avery sends Dylan home – to Sharon. Mike’s on ‘babysitting duty’. Sharon sent Paul and Mike over here because she was worried, Dylan informs. He then pauses at the door, and near tears, reminds Avery that she always talked him down – encouraged him to get help. You must too. Avery knows.
At CL’s, Dylan updates Sharon – Avery needs help – someone needs to help her, but it won’t be me.
Still in Joe’s suite, Mike’s arranged for Avery to turn herself in tomorrow. You won’t be kicked out of the bar over these charges – or disbarred. Avery must believe in her cause – she took the law into her own hands – didn’t trust the system. I wanted to kill him! You’re a good lawyer, Mike says. I WAS a good lawyer. Mike will cover her. Avery has an Innocence Foundation press conference this week. It’ll take more than a ‘couple’ of days for her to come back refreshed.
What does this mean to you? Phyllis is at the station showing Victor the ‘2’ (sure his spies have already updated him) Victor has no idea what it means – or why would Jack lured him to the park. He’s erratic. If Victor hadn’t protected himself, he wouldn’t be here today. When he gets out, he’ll make sure Jack doesn’t hurt Phyllis. She just wants the truth and will get it. Dylan’s said good bye to his life with Avery. As Sharon talks about memories fading, she’s stopped from lifting chairs. Nothing will hurt this baby, Dylan vows. o
Still in Victor’s office, Chelsea tells Adam to be a role model for Connor – confess to your crime. Delia’s death was an accident, Adam swears. Covering it up wasn’t – Chelsea wonders how Adam could look Billy in the eye. OMG – Jack thinks you’re his son. No – that was Jack’s idea (to get Victor off the trail) You told Jack and not me? Chelsea’s devastated. Why would Jack help you? He’s helping Billy (he then shows her the scar) Billy shot him when he went to confess. Chelsea then guesses that he blackmailed Victor into his CEO job. Chelsea isn’t willing to keep this secret – how could you do this to us (her and Connor)
Finishing his drink and moping over a photo on Avery on his phone, Joe calls Paul – he’s not pressing charges against Avery (his good deed for the year) As he walks out, Joe gets punched in the face by Cane – that’s what you get for sleeping with my wife you son of a bitch!!
Upstairs, Avery contemplates leaving town. Mike’s not having it – you’ll get through this. It won’t be easy, but people here care about you (Mike lists them all) Let’s get you home. In tears, Avery leans her head on Mike and weeps.
